Review: Tesalate Beach Towel – Leave the Sand at the Beach!

Living in the seaside resort of Bournemouth, Dorset, we are regular beach goers and we are spoiled with 7 miles of sandy beaches to choose from.

The kids are always in and out of the water, either swimming, on paddleboards or body boards, which means wet, heavy and extremely sandy towels to bring home.

We were invited to review sand free beach towels from Tesalate and could not wait to really put them to the test.

Tesalate Bags

The first thing to note is that they come in handy drawstring bags and fold down so small that you could pop them in your handbag. We went armed withe buckets / spades and bodyboards and these towels took up next to no room.

Tesalate Towels Sebby

Each beach towel measures 160cm x 80cm, so the same size as regular beach towels, but if you want something larger, they also offer an oversized beach towel measuring 160cm x 160cm.

Tesalate Beach Towels

Each colourful towel weighs around 500g, which is very lightweight, which makes it a very versatile towel for not only taking to the beach, but to the gym, camping or for travelling.

Body Board

Tesalate towels are made of cutting-edge textile technology called AbsorbLite™ fabric to bring you a towel that’s simply smarter than the rest. The AbsorbLite’s engineering allows sand to flow freely from it, meaning you can leave the sand where it belongs, at the beach, plus they are super absorbent, retaining up to 1 litre of water……… but do they really work?

Eliza Boadyboarding

I challenged the kids to really put them to the test.

Isaac Tesalate Towel

When dry, the sand does not get caught in the towel and literally slides off it, however, when the towel is damp, we found that you needed to either shake the towel or brush the sand off with your hand.

Tesalate Towels

The towels are super absorbent too, drying the kids off quickly on their first use, however, Isaac and Eliza are constantly in and out of the water and I didn’t find the towels effectively dried off between uses – perhaps as the air temperature wasn’t as warm as it has been recently.

Tesalate Sugar Skull

I also found that with them being so lightweight, they needed weighing down as they tend to get blown away on a breezy day.

Bournemouth

In conclusion, the towels design is stunning and we definitely brought home less sand than we usually do, but, they didn’t dry in between uses like I thought they would, which is no good if you are in and out of the sea (or pool). These will definitely be useful for when the kids return to swimming or for when we are paddleboarding as we are not in and out of the water.

Tesalate towels have an RRP of £49 and are available directly from Tesalate.com

  1. I like the bright colors. The size is just right too, except of course I would be needing a bigger one for my boys and my husband. I am glad to know that they are absorbent. That’s a big plus. The carrying pouch is a big bonus too. Thank you for your honest review.

  2. That’s a shame that they didn’t dry too much between uses, but UK weather doesn’t help with that. They’re very cool designs though x

  3. We always bring home so much sand so these sound great for keeping the sand at bay but it is a shame they don’t dry much between uses – not helpful if you’re spending all day in and out the pool or the sea.

  5. I love the look of these and how bright and colourful they are! Its fab that they dont hold all the dry sand and how lightweight they are as I hate lugging heavy towels to and from the beach. It’s a shame they don;t dry very quickly though as my two are in and out of the water too. As you said though they sound perfect for swim club and much lighter to carry around too!
