Project 365 2020 Week 35 – COVID 19 Lockdown Week 24

I was chatting to one of my colleagues at work and with the exception of wearing face masks in shops, it really does feel like everything has gone back to normal – except when you catch the news.

Sunday 23rd August

The decorator is still doing our doors, so I need to get the kids outside and out of his hair. What is it with kids, needing to know exactly what everyone is doing?

lounge

I needed to get my Tesalate Towel review done, so took the kids to the beach. At 12, Isaac is starting to complain about days out and wasn’t keen on hitting the beach – apparently he doesn’t like sand!!

Bournemouth Beach

The beach was quite quiet as the weather has been blustery, but thankfully Isaac’s mood changed when we got to the beach and he thoroughly enjoyed catching the huge waves on his body board.

Body Board

Eliza still needs a bit more training on hers, as she prefers spending most of her time under the water…….she really should have been born a mermaid!

Eliza Boadyboarding

I treated the kids to a slushy before heading home to warm up………Autumn is definitely on its way as it is cooling down very quickly by late afternoon / early evening.

Slushy

Monday 24th August

The weather was horrible, today so the only place we ventured was Tesco to do our weekly shop. Their Autumn / Winter clothing range has come in and I got conned into buying the kids new onesie’s!!

Pokemon Onesie

I probably should have tucked them away for Christmas, but they wanted to wear them straight away and with the weather so miserable, who could blame them!

Tuesday 25th August

The kids don’t go back to school until 7th September, but I decided to beat the back to school rush and get their hair cut today.

Haircut

All the blue has almost gone from Isaac’s hair now and the hairdresser told me to use Head and Shoulders if it’s not quite out when he goes back. He has decided to keep it long on top, which I think makes him look more grown up.

I spent the rest of the day catching up on blog work.

Wednesday 26th August

I finally have some good news regarding work. Tesco have offered me a new temporary contract, although on reduced hours to what I am currently doing. Hopefully I can top it up with overtime.

Oh, and some nice person managed to hit my parked car and drove off without leaving their details.

Bumper

Eliza was in her element today as we took delivery of a huge box of Harry Potter goodies to review.

Harry Potter

It was only when I was taking pictures in her room, that I realised that her wall stickers were quite babyish, so we took them down and have ordered some new Harry Potter inspired ones to replace them.

Eliza room

I managed to prize her out of her Hogwarts uniform before heading to Abbey’s, as I had to work and we took over some goodies for Lilah that we were sent to review.

Bing Bunny

Thursday 27th August

I left Dad in charge as I headed off to work today and the kids spent the day building Lego.

Lego Hedwig

Eliza normally gets frustrated with Lego, but today she persevered and built her Hedwig model all by herself, which she proudly showed off when I got home.

Hedwig

I literally walked out of work and straight into a Harry Potter twitter party for Blog On Conference, which was fun. Luckily I took all my photo’s the day before!

Friday 28th August

We were supposed to be going on holiday over the weekend, but sadly cancelled it as cannot take the two week quarantine hit. I had arranged to review a car though, so we have a Nissan Quashqai for the week, so are planning lots of days out.

Quashqai

My first outing in it was to take Eliza swimming and it is lovely to drive.

Tree Climbing

We have just found out the new swimming timetables, and we are not sure it is going to be workable for us, plus they have significantly increased the cost. It is so disappointing, especially as they have loved being back in the water.

Saturday 29th August

I have spent the morning catching up with more reviews and launching some giveaways, whilst the kids have been taking part in Play at Home Fest.

Sleep Well - little hands

Now it is off to work for me……..

  1. We have one of those Tesalate Towels and I think they are fab. It looks like a fab day at the beach.
It has been a chilly week. Those onesies look very cosy!

  3. A day on the beach, what could be better?! Love Lego Hedwig, will see if I can find it for Eddie.

  4. Good news on the job front, but shame about the swimming. We still haven’t heard what’s happening with N’s, but sounds like he’s not going back. I tried to persuade him to do rookie lifeguard instead as being at home for work I can get him there on time after school. But we need to work out tennis private lessons first then work round that.

  5. I can’t believe the beach was so empty! Ours has been rammed since the relaxing of lock down! That’s a shame someone did that to your car, I had that happen in my car park at work and the CCTV let me down its an additional expense you just don’t need.

  7. That’s me, I want to know what everyone is doing and why. Sort of helps me be in synch with the world and i can plan my day accordingly if it involves me. It looks like the kids had a great time at the beach. The slushy is served in a cool glass. I love the onesies! Oh God, they just hit the car without apologising? It’s very agonising when that happens. The Harry Potter stuff looks great! Hedwig looks great!
