Zoggs Water Wing Vest Review

I am a firm believer that kids should learn to swim from an early age as it is a vital life skill to have.

Both Isaac and Eliza are confident swimmers with Isaac recently completing an 1800m distance swim in just 60 minutes and Eliza has just earned her 400m badge and her level 4 swimming certificate.

Sebastian has been having swimming lessons with Turtle Tots since he was a couple of months old and has a good grasp of water safety, but can only swim a short distance unaided so when we are on holiday I like him to have an extra buoyancy aid so we feel more relaxed in the pool.

Zoggs asked me to try out their Water Wing Vest which provides fixed buoyancy and encourages him to maintain a natural swimming position which encourages him to use his arms and legs to move around in the water just like he has been taught in his lessons.

Zoggs Water Wings

The Water Wing Vest features a neoprene body and super soft sleeves with foam floats strategically sewn into the arms and shoulders to provide exceptional buoyancy and ease of movement.

The vest features a zip which does up at the back and a tab to hold it in place so it remains secure and stops little ones from removing the vest in the pool. The sleeves help to stop the jacket from riding up around the neck, so they can build their swim confidence in comfort.

Sebastian loved using his water wings and exclaimed that they made him look like Mr Incredible with muscles when he put it on. He was able to practice his ‘paddles’ and ‘kicks’ just like in his swimming lessons whilst we supervised.

The real benefit of him wearing his water wings was that he could play freely with Isaac and Eliza in the pool, without us having to supervise too closely.

The boys water wings come in a deep sea print on the arms and shark print on the front and can be coordinated with sharky print shorts the girls has a cute mermaid print on the arms and mermaid print on the front which can be worn over a swimming costume.

The water wing vests are available from Zoggs.com in ages 2-3 or 4-5 at a RRP of £23.99 and Sebastians sharky shorts are RRP £14.

These are fantastic for helping kids swimming, and helps keeps hands free and gives them independence too

  2. I can’t swim and haven’t taken the children to lessons either 🙁 I worry about trying to get them swimming and this looks great for reassuring me and them!

  3. I like the look of the Water Wing Vest. Looks amazing. My kids are learning to swim too!

I always worry they end up floating the wrong way round or upside down in any flotation aid. These look as if they might go with the natural movements of the body though. Nice design too.

We are looking at getting the boys some swimming lessons, but haven’t been sure if they are worth it. It sounds like you have had a lot of success though, so will have to look into it.

Yes I think everyone should learn to swim mine are just getting the hang of it and youngest has just done 25 metres with school. Eldest is taking abit longer but she getting the hang of it

  7. Learning to swim is so important isn’t it 🙂 My little boy is a bit older than your two and is working on his level 7, I’m so proud of him. I remember the days when he used Zoggs, too…definitely a brand to trust x

Swimming is definitely that should be learnt as soon as possible. I tried Lucas with a jacket a bit like this and he won’t keep it on! Im hoping it’s just a phase

  9. We love Zoggs, we always use their arm bands and floats, although we haven’t tried this vest. Swimming is so important, mine love being in the water!

  10. I agree. For me swimming is a life skill that everyone needs. This looks like what my youngest needs for her next stage, she is really confident in the water and I like that it gives her freedom, but keeps her up! Love the print on it too.
