Zippo’s Circus are back in Brighton with their “Rebound” tour following COVID19!

Back in August last year we were lucky enough to be invited to review Cirque Berserk when it visited Brighton and the kids have been asking to visit the circus again over the summer holidays.

With COVID19 restrictions to consider, we were unsure if the circus would be back this year, but they are back on the road with the Big Top tour ‘Rebound!’, starring a diverse cast of thrilling artists from around the globe.

The tour started in Brighton this week, where it will be on Hove Park until 23rd August and we met up with Callan and Chelsea to visit.

COVID19 restrictions at Zippo’s Circus

The show complies with all COVID-19 health and safety measures including social distancing seating within household/party ‘bubbles’ in the Big Top, enhanced ventilation with the sides of the Big Top lifted, air blowers operating and part of the roof is open. There is also PPE for staff, deep cleaning and random non-invasive temperature checks for selected visitors. The wearing of face coverings is voluntary as the audience are all facing in the same direction. Despite the temperature being well over 30°C outside, the circus felt cool.

Advance booking is also strongly recommend due to limited numbers.

The Show

The show is presented by Zippos’ first female Ringmistress – Britain’s own Tracy Jones as their veteran Ringmaster Norman Barrett, 84, takes a break for this season due to COVID-19.

Some of our favourites from last year’s show were back in this fast-moving spectacle, with astonishing acrobats and aerialists, comics and daredevil motorcyclists with their Globe of Death act.

The changes between the acts was seamless and the acts ranged from high energy, to calm and serene. The first half of the show lasts an hour, with a 20 minute break before the second half, also an hour long.

It is hard to pick a favourite moment, as some gasps from the crowd, others had you peeping through your fingers and the humour made you laugh out loud. It did make a nice break from all the news to help make things feel back to normal.

Zippos Circus is now staying for an extra week at Hove Park Brighton with two shows daily until 23 August. Use discount code ZC06 C to get up to 30% off! Valid until 09/11/20.

This code is also valid for when it moves on to East Ham from 3rd -8th September and then Hampstead Heath from 10th-15th September.

Do you enjoy the circus?
