All the way back in February we had our windows replaced – it seems like such a long time ago now.
We had had some problems with mould in the house and the old windows were literally dripping with condensation every morning. We were advised that new windows would cure the problem and they have – the difference is amazing and the house is so much warmer.
We were advised to wait around 8 weeks for things to settle and check for no new mould growth on the walls and I am happy to report we have the all clear and can now decorate to our hearts content.
The first thing I want to change is the blinds in the bedrooms, as they are on their last legs and bore the brunt of the issues we had with the windows so are marked and stained beyond the powers of any miracle cleaning product.
We have vertical blinds in the lounge which are fantastic, but I have decided to stick with Roller Blinds in the bedrooms.
The boys room is at the front of the house and I need a made-to-measure blackout blind for their room as it gets the morning sun streaming in and Isaac is a light sleeper at the best of times. I need something that isn’t babyish though, as he shares with his big brother.
There are lots of plain colours to choose but I love this Multi-Dot blue blind for the boys and the Pretty Birds pink blind from Web-Blinds – both are blackout blinds too!
Window Dressing
As for our room, I have yet to decide on a colour scheme. I am still trying to influence hubby to hang wallpaper on one wall, but he isn’t keen. I paint, but don’t have the patience for wallpaper which means that he would have to do it!
I quite like this Seed Head Roller blind, but think I need to do some pinning on Pinterest before I make my final decision as think this would suit a kitchen better……… decisions, decisions!
