Win a Family Ticket to the KidPreneur Festival at KidZania London

KidZania London is my one of the kids favourite days out of all time and is somewhere they never get bored of visiting.

It is an indoor city run by kids that is perfect for a fun day out, with more than 60 real-life activities for the kids to get involved with, including the new Nintendo Labo area.

On Saturday 13th October 2018, KidZania is holding Kidpreneur Day, dedicated to celebrating young entrepreneurship and inspiring the next generation of innovators and business leaders.

During the festival, four young entrepreneurs will takeover of the city. This year’s talent is:

Tommy Mallet, CEO of Mallet Footwear

Kidpreneur

Proving he’s more than just a famous face, the 25-year-old ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star’s footwear brand ‘Mallet’ is stocked in over 190 stores across Europe. Tommy has spoken out about his struggle with dyslexia, encouraging school children that it doesn’t matter if they are not academic as they can still achieve a lot – as he has – if they are determined and work hard.

Louise Leolin, CEO of DinoByteLabs:

Louise is the MD of a London-based company, Dinobyte Labs, which specialises in creating games with more diverse player experiences. After founding the company at just 24, Louise focuses on creating digital worlds and encounters that are tailored to what real gamers actually want, whilst also offering game design consultancy to brands all over the world.

Jenk Oz, CEO of iCoolKid:

Kidpreneur Kidzania

Dubbed Britain’s youngest CEO by Business Insider at just 12 years old, Jenk founded the innovative children’s digital platform, iCoolKid, with cool content designed by kids, for kids. He balances this with a successful acting, singing and dancing career and regularly takes part in talks and seminars all over the world, advising and coaching business leaders – often more than double his age!

Rose Dyson, CEO of Pura Cosmetics:

Student Rose Dyson started her cruelty-free, vegan lip care business, Pura Cosmetics, aged just 15 and with just £25. Rose balances running the business with studying and her phenomenal achievements have already been recognised by business giants. She is the youngest ever recipient of both the Jacqueline Gold CBE Women in Business #WOW Award and the Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday Award. She is also the current UK Young Trader of the Year.

Kidzania

Each one will host a 10 minute talk in our theatre, sharing real insights into how they started their business ventures, as well as imparting tips to kids on how to make their business dreams a reality.

The Q&As will be followed by a series of interactive workshops, where children can get hands on with the KidPreneurs to develop their business and entrepreneurship skills; spanning everything from fashion design to building video games (please find a full list of workshops and times below).

KidZania believe that children are never too young to develop brilliant business thinking and our KidPreneurs are proof that with the right support and guidance, young people can make their business dreams and reality.

Workshops on the day

Design your own trainers with Tommy Mallet

11.45am – 13.30pm & 15.00pm – 16.45pm

This arts and crafts based workshop will bring out the fashion designer in everyone! Tommy will be talking to kids about what inspires his designs, how to create something that’s unique and how they are brought to life. Children will then be tasked to create their very own Mallet trainer design of their own.

Create your own gaming world with Louise Leolin

10.30am – 13.00pm & 15.00pm – 16.30pm

Louise’s two part workshop will kick off by introducing children to the wide range of jobs in the gaming industry; from coding and programming, to design, story writing and event accountancy. Part two will be more hands on, with children being divided into groups to come up with their very own gaming worlds. Children will need to decide; who is your character? What’s the world? What’s their goal? A workshop set to challenge children’s creative thinking and their awareness of diversity and marketing products to a wide range of audiences.

Ideas ink: Pen to Paper with Jenk Oz

11.30am – 13.30pm & 14.45pm – 16.30pm

Got a cool business idea but no idea how to make it a reality? In this workshop, Jenk will be heading up a ‘head to paper’ session, encouraging children to come up with their most creative ideas and storyboard them onto paper. Jenk has previously spoken about these workshops at TED:X events and focuses on storyboarding ideas as the first step towards making business goals a reality. Head to paper is step one of the five-step process Jenk uses in his full ‘Ideas Ink’ workshops, which he runs with business leaders and innovators all over the country.

In addition, kids can check out the iCoolKid stand. The iCoolKid team will be on site all day, showcasing all the incredible content the site has to offer on iPads and answering any budding questions fans may have. In between his workshops, Jenk will also be on the stand hosting ‘Ask Jenk’ slots, giving kids the chance to ask him any business questions they may have to kickstart their own ventures!

How to sell cosmetics with Rose Dyson

10.30am – 12.30pm & 14.30pm – 16.30pm

Think you’ve got what it takes to sell your idea or product? In this workshop, Rose will teach children how to identify product USPs and how to pitch products to potential buyers and customers marketing mix’s 4Ps (product, place, price and promotion) as a framework. Using her beautiful range of Pura Cosmetics as a base, children will work together to create a pitch, before selling Roses’ products back to her. Will she buy them?
