Vamousse Headlice Treatment

With less than a week until the kids are back to school, it is time to start thinking about everything they need for the new term.

I have been busy collecting bits and bobs throughout the summer months to help spread the cost and we did the dreaded shoe shop last week.

The boys both chose the first pair of shoes they tried on, but Eliza had to try on every single style of shoe in the shop before making her final decision.

Of course, heading back to school doesn’t just mean having a crisp new uniform and sparkling shoes, it also sees the kids reunited with friends that they may not have seen for the last six weeks.

When the kids get back together they play, which can mean close contact with each other and the arrival of another, more unpleasant visitor – head lice.

As a mother of six, I would love to say that we have got through the parent journey unscathed from these creatures, but all the kids have caught head lice at one time or another and treating the kids with foul-smelling lotions and potions, that don’t always work, is a very unpleasant task.

The only method I have found to work is the nit comb and conditioner trick, but it is time-consuming lathering the hair with conditioner and combing through every three days, for two weeks, to break the cycle.

Now there is a new head lice treatment on the block that is proven to kill 100% of lice and eggs within just 15 minutes of contact meaning there is no need to reapply. This is great news for families as head lice is a common problem – more than 1 in 3 children in the UK will get head lice at some point during the year.

Vamousse Protective Shampoo

It used to be recommended that you treat the whole family if one of the kids can home with head lice, however, you can now use Vamousse Protective Shampoo as a daily solution anytime there is a risk of head lice to protect your family. It kills head lice before they get the chance to lay eggs and is so gentle that it can be used in place of your regular shampoo.

I don’t know how I’ve managed to have three kids and never have had to deal with a headlice problem, yet! It’s good to know there are products out there to turn to if needs be.

We’ve managed to avoid this so far (touch wood!) but a preventative treatment sounds like a great idea. It’s great that you only have to apply the treatment once too, so much better than worrying for weeks!

  6. This sounds like a great product and love how quickly it can be used too! Both my children are in school now and my daughter has very long hair, which we do always have up but still doesn’t stop the problem if its going to happen. I may have to stock up on some of this for when we need it!

  7. We’ve been lucky – children in years 7 and 5, and touch wood no head lice (so far). So pleased to hear there’s a treatment that works in one go, rather than over several days/weeks
