The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part – LEGO Building sets review

We are big fans of the LEGO inspired movies and cannot wait until this weekend, to see the latest instalment: LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part!

The citizens of Bricksburg face a dangerous new threat when LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space start to wreck everything in their path. The battle to defeat the enemy and restore harmony to the LEGO universe takes Emmet, Lucy, Batman and the rest of their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds that test their courage and creativity.

Of course, alongside the film are some fabulous new LEGO sets to accompany it and we were sent a selection to review.

Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi’s Build Whatever Box – RRP: £34.99!

This is Eliza’s favourite set as she can build and re-build the shape-shifting star Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi in 15 different forms.

The set has instructions to build each version of the Queen, from a grumpy volcano to a happy butterfly or colourful rocket, or you can build your own shapes.

This set really caught Isaac’s imagination as he has been making his very own LEGO movies with this versatile building set.

The set features a movie stage, a camera stand for your smartphone and lots of cool action props.

The stage features a frame with sliding, adjustable arms at the top hold and animate props, characters and accessory elements. The backdrop is double-sided for alternative scenes, plus the platform has built-in sliders to move the characters around.

Simply build the set and download the app (available on android and AppStore) to start making your very own movie, complete with fun movie sound effects.

For Sebastian, Emmet and Benny’s ‘Build and Fix Workshop’ is the perfect starter set, for ages 4+.

This play set allows kids to use tools to fix Benny’s Spaceship and Emmet’s Space Buggy. You can also “pump gas” into the vehicles and launch them into orbit, then use the spaceship’s buggy to explore new planets!

Benny’s Space Squad – RRP: £8.99

This building set features a spaceship toy with a minifigure seat and a lunar buggy with twi minifigure seats to allow kids to role-play their favourite scenes from the film.

Emmet’s Thricycle – RRP: £12.99

This LEGO set features a minifigure seat, 3 vertically stacked rubber tyres and fold out stabilisers. It includes a fuel station with a buildable gas pump, catapult function and parking spot for the thricycle.

The set also includes an Emmet minifigure and a brick-built alien invader with a chomping mouth and a rotating cyclops eye.
