Project 365 2014 – Week 44

Wow, what a half term!

We were lucky enough to be invited to review a holiday cottage with cottages4you and chose Staffordshire as our base for the week.  The cottage was stunning and set just outside Newcastle-Under-Lyme, which made the perfect base for exploring the North West.

We bought Merlin passes as the beginning of the year, so it made sense to visit as many attractions as we could.  I didn’t realise there were so many and my only disappointment is we didn’t do the Dungeons as the little ones were too young and I didn’t want to give them nightmares.

Last Sunday we visited Warwick Castle which is a fabulous day out.  The kids adored the spooky maze complete with Skeleton Ball and the Dueling Dead show was amazing.

Monday saw us heading to Alton Towers where Hubby and Kian headed off to do the big rollercoasters whilst I hung out at cbeebiesland, which is brilliant.  If you visit, make sure you go to the Mr Bloom show – it was amazing!

Tuesday saw some gorgeous weather and a visit to Go Ape.  Isaac has been begging to do it for ages and he is finally tall enough. I honestly thought he would be terrified but he charge around the course with a big grin on his face before launching himself down the big zipline.

On Wednesday we headed to the Legoland Discovery Centre and Sealife Centre at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.  I wasn’t expecting it to be a full day out but it was and the kids bagged some gorgeous new toys in the Disney Shop and Hamleys.

Thursday saw us heading back to Alton Towers as one day isn’t enough.  This time Hubby got to hang out at cbeebiesland whilst I did the big rollercoasters with Kian!

No visit to the North West would be complete without a visit to Blackpool.  Sadly we didn’t get a chance to do the Pleasure Beach but had a great time watching the circus at Blackpool Tower, driving through the illuminations and visiting Madame Tussauds.

Project 365 2014 – Week 43

It has been an odd week this week.

The weekend was packed full of fun for all the kids.  On Saturday we headed to the bright lights of London for a Nintendo event and on Sunday we had not one, but two children’s party to attend!  In the morning Isaac got to make pizza at Pizza Hut and in the afternoon we headed into Dorchester for a Princess Ball.

On Monday the Lemur Linkup team had an exciting meeting with a local restaurant Jenkins & Sons to discuss a bloggers brunch event and a possible Christmas Party and it looks like it is going to be lots of fun!

Much to Kian’s disgust, Isaac and Eliza broke up from school on Wednesday meaning they go an extra two days of holiday, although it wasn’t all fun for them as Eliza had to have her flu immunisation.

Here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 42

It seems many of us have been struggling with taking photo’s this week.

The weather has definitely turned more Autumnal with rain, rain and more rain but it’s still mild and the heating has yet to be fired up.  We have bled the radiators to make sure they are ready for when the time comes as I am sure it won’t be long.

I have been to London twice this week.  On Tuesday I headed up on the train CHILD FREE to the Dyson event, to see their new DC41 MkII.  I actually read a whole book without interruption and then got to network with some fellow bloggers, whilst playing with some new vacuum cleaners and their bladeless fans!  It was really relaxing.

The second trip to London was with 4 children and we headed to White Space in London for the Nintendo event, where the kids got to try lots of new games for their DS’s, mingle with their favourite characters, make cakes and even have their faces painted.

Here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 41

This week was one we have been looking forward to for a while.

On Sunday Eliza and I attended a Princess Ball where she got to meet some of her favourite Disney Princesses including Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel and of course Anna and Elsa.  My normally confident little lady went all shy and refused to have any pictures with them, but I am hoping she will get over that by the time her birthday comes around as she insists she wants them there!

On Monday we held our first Lemur Linkup Blogger / Business night which saw local bloggers get to meet and get to work with local businesses.  It went even better than we could have dreamed of and plan to run them twice a year.

Thursday saw the first school disco of the year and both Isaac and Eliza won prizes for their dancing.  I definitely need to book them in for lessons, especially Isaac as he seems to be a natural at street dance!

This week has also seen some epic rainstorms, normally hitting us when I am doing one of the three school runs of the day.  It is safe to say I spent most of the week looking like a drowned rat.  Thankfully we found shelter when one hit whilst we were doing the Gruffalo’s Child trail at Moors Valley yesterday!

Here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 40

Wow – week forty……. only another 12 weeks to go until 2015!

It has been a quiet week and I have to admit to the fact that we haven’t done much this week.  I have had a major catch up blogging session and my reviews are all scheduled and up to date for the first time in months!

Last Sunday saw us head out to our local swimming pool for an underwater photo shoot with Eliza and Isaac’s swimming school.  The kids had great fun and it appears that Isaac is as photogenic underwater as he is on top and they want to use his images in their advertising!

Isaac got to bring baby Oleg home (his class teddy), so we invited Aleksandr and Sergei around for a tea party and on Thursday we took part in a Doc McStuffins twitter party with UKMumsTV which was hectic but fun!

Here is our week in pictures:

Farmer Palmers

Project 365 2014 – Week 39

It’s almost October…….how did that happen?

This week has seen the return of the after-school clubs and Isaac was really excited to get back to playing football.  As his feet had grown he is now the proud owner of new football boots and despite being the shortest in his year, seems to be quite adept at playing in goal!

Although the weather is still lovely, we have noticed the mornings are a little nippy so have broken out the jumpers.  I am not quite ready to put my beloved fit flops away though and am persevering with chilly toes.

On Wednesday we were invited to the launch of Farmer Palmers new play barn, which was stunning.  As it was Daddy’s day off we dragged him along and he got to help Isaac feed the lambs.

Saturday saw Isaac go on his very first Beavers Trip and I dropped him off to catch the ferry to Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.  He had an absolute ball by all accounts, whilst we headed back to Farmer Palmers where Sebastian cuddles his first Guinea Pig.

Here is our week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 38

I have to admit that this week has been a tough one as I feel exhausted after the past two weeks of illness and holiday. It was probably the post holiday blues kicking in to, although by the end of the week I was feeling happier and back in our old routine.

Friday saw the excitement of the MADBlogAwards and although we didn’t win either of our categories, I was honoured to be nominated and I genuinely love and read the blogs who beat me, plus it was great catching up with people I chat to online.

Saturday involved another drive, this time to Worthing to pick up a mid-sleeper bed for Eliza and meet up with Callan when he finished work.  Eliza insisted we built her bed as soon as we were home and its safe to say she loves it.  I just need some storage to go underneath now!

Here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 37

It has been the most amazing week!

Back in June I entered a competition at Britmums to win a holiday with Mark Warner, and this was the week 11 other bloggers and I got to fly out to their flagship resort, Levante in Rhodes to sample everything they have to offer.

I had been a little worried that I may have had to cancel as Sebastian took so long to get over his bug, but he finally beat it on Sunday.  Hubby took a couple of days off work to look after the other kids to enable me to go and it was so good I want to take all the kids back for a holiday.

I cannot wait to tell you all about it, we went sailing, kayaking and even for a spin on an inflatable sofa, but for now here are some of my favourite pictures:

Week 36 – Project 365 2014

It has been an eventful week in the Chelseamamma household this week, but sadly not for all the right reasons.

We finished off the school holidays at Bournemouth Air Festival on Sunday and it was the best air festival day we have ever had.  I think a combination of the weather and company just made it an amazing day.

On Monday I met up with my friend Joanne from Charliemoos at our local soft play centre with all the children.  Sebastian just wasn’t interested in playing and then howled for what seemed like an eternity before falling asleep on my shoulder.  Without any warning he was sick…….everywhere.  All over him and me – looking back its quite comical, but trying to round up 5 children whilst covered in vomit and get them home and to the car was a nightmare.

Poor Sebby has had the bug all week.  Everytime we think its cleared through he is sick again, but the doctors say he just needs to work it through his system.  Eliza then came down with it on Wednesday and it hit me on Thursday, thankfully only lasting a few hours!

On a good note, Kian left for his school trip to Paris at 4am on Tuesday morning and had a whale of a time, returning home on Friday night.  Yesterday we introduced Daddy to the Treasure Island Play Park we found a couple of weeks ago and then took a wander to the beach.  It was lovely to hear Sebby giggling again – lets hope he is finally beating this bug!

Singing in the rain

Project 365 2014 – Week 35

I forgot to do my Project 365 post!

That never happens!

In my defence we have a manic weekend and then Sebastian was ill.  Now it’s 5am and I am up with Eliza who seems to have gone down with it now, and no amount of persuasion will get her back into bed.  Whilst she watches the rubbish that is on TV this time of the morning I may as well catch up.

The final week of the school holidays was epic!

Monday saw us head to Rockreef for Kian’s birthday treat in the torrential rain.  On the way there the kids were splashing in the puddles and having fun and were spotted by the Daily Echo, who took lots of photo’s which went in the paper the next day!

The grand finale to the school holidays though was Bournemouth Air Fest and we spend four days on the beach, having fun and enjoying everything it had to offer, with a brief interruption to drive some Go Karts at Daytona Track at Sandown Park!

Here are my pictures:

Week 35
