Review: Camp Bestival 2021

We have been attending Camp Bestival for the last 8 years and were waiting on tenterhooks to see if this year’s one would be going ahead, after last years cancellation due to COVID. It was a nervy wait, as the easing of lockdown restrictions was delayed, but on 19th July, things finally went our way and Camp Bestival was GO! Camp Bestival is a family festival held at Lulworth Castle in our home county of Dorset. It is set mostly outside, with a few tents hosting indoor shows and activities, which made us feel more confident in attending. Entry requirements …

Snakes in the Heather Walk at Parley Common

I am always on the lookout for different things to engage the kids, especially as they are now getting older and more tricky to please. An evening at Hollywood Bowl – Tower Park

With restrictions easing, we have been looking at activities we can all do as a family this half term. Of course, some things have changed and there are hand-sanitiser stations at the entrance and on each bowling station, screens to separate visitors and encourage social distancing, mask wearing is compulsory for adults and …

Review: Pirate Adventure Mini Golf at Weymouth Sea Life Centre

We are regular visitors to Weymouth Sea Life Centre, but despite loving a game of crazy golf, have never played their Pirate Adventure Mini Golf, which sits next to the park. With restrictions on indoor activities still in place, Weymouth Sea Life Centre have re-opened their doors to their outdoor areas only and you can buy tickets to the mini golf, which also includes entry to the centre – pre-booking is essential. We were invited to go along and try our hands at the mini golf and the kids could not wait to get started. We had our temperatures checked …

Isaac’s 11th Birthday Party at Dorset Adventure Park

For the last two years, Isaac and his friend Scott have had joint, action packed birthday parties at Avon Tyrell Outdoor Centre and it was always the plan to do the same again this year, however they decided that they wanted to try something new. Last year we had Kian’s 18th Birthday at Dorset Adventure Park which is situated in the shadow of Corfe Castle in Dorset and enjoyed it so much that Isaac thought his friends would love it too. We booked an early slot, which meant getting there for 10.15 for an 11am start, but that also meant …
