All that Glitters is not Gold!

A few weeks ago we were guests at Trevella Park in Cornwall and having regular holidays in this beautiful county, we were keen to explore places new. Perusing a magazine with days out I came across Cornwall Gold which is billed as a unique visitor experience set in the tin mining landscape of Cornwall. The park set in 18 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and admission and parking free of charge – as a family of 6, free is always a good number so we added it to our list of places to visit. When you arrive you enter through the main jewellery …

Land's End

Taking the family to Lands End

A couple of weeks ago we visited Cornwall for the weekend and rather than decide where we were taking the kids, we gave them a list attractions and invited them to choose where they wanted to visit. It was rather an eclectic mix of choices, which I wasn’t expecting, so we planned our weekend around Springfields Fun Park, Pirate’s Quest, Cornwall Gold and Lands End. We haven’t been to Lands End for years and our last visit was back with Abbey, Callan and Kian were small so we were seeing it through a fresh set of eyes. Lands End is …

Trevella Park

Revisiting Trevella Park #CornwallAdventure

We last visited Trevella Park, Newquay back in October 2013 and loved our stay there despite the weather not being on our side. Trevella Park is an award-winning holiday park with a wide range of static caravan accommodation and a dedicated area for camping, touring and motorhome holidays. The site is simply stunning with neatly manicured lawns, impressive floral displays and their resident owl to welcome you when you arrive and it has the added benefit of being walking distance away from Crantock Beach. Trevella Park also has an outdoor heated pool, adventure playground, two large and popular fishing lakes, mini golf, …

Pirate's Quest

Pirate’s Quest, Newquay

On our recent visit to Newquay we were keen to find activities with the children that we hadn’t tried before and Pirate’s Quest in Newquay stood out as a fun place to visit. The hour-long walk-through experience is led by your own Jolly Roger pirate guide who will take your family through a series of swashbucklin’ sets and legendary scenes whilst teaching them about pirate life. As well as learning all about Pirate’s and Smugglers, there’s also the chance to meet some characters from Cornish folklore including some pesky piskies and Cornish spriggans. Each buccaneer was given a Treasure Map …

At Day at Springfield Fun Park, Cornwall

Last weekend we went to Cornwall and stayed at the beautiful Trevella Park. As part of our stay we were invited to visit some of Cornwall’s top attractions and as we have visited Cornwall a number of times before I decided to let the kids do the choosing. Springfields Fun Park just outside Newquay was one of their choices. A traditional family run fun park it offers pony rides, meeting the animals, a train ride, boats and lots of playground fun both inside and out. Getting to Springfields did prove to be a slight issue as there were no signposts and our …
