Skylanders Summer

The boys enthusiasm for Skylanders seems to have ramped up a gear over the summer holidays and I think it is because they got the chance to play the new Skylanders Trap Team at Camp Bestival and LolliBop.

All previous figures have been confirmed to work once again but of course there is a whole slew of new toys to collect. First to note are the 16 new Trap Masters, a larger toy that wields a Traptanium weapon and has an advantage when fighting the capturable villains. There are also 18 new core Skylanders who will join the fight as well as reposed fan-favourites from previous adventures.

The kids had great fun learning how to trap Skylanders as well, as playing the new game and having photo’s taken with their favourite characters.

Isaac has finally completed his swapforce character collection, with Fire Kraken and you can often hear him screeching with delight as he creates new characters by swapping their bottoms.  He is also starting to beat his big brother in the battles!

The team at Skylanders sent us a lovely #skylanderssummer package, which included some rather funky sunglasses, a beach towel, an activity book, swimming bag and calendar.  The activity book came in very handy on Bank Holiday Monday when we had that day of torrential rain, and Isaac’s drawings are now starting to resemble the characters – can you guess who he has drawn?

I am hoping we get some more nice weather so we can get to the beach, but I am not sure we will be able to create this fabulous sand sculpture!

  1. My second son had a lovely time with Skylanders but we bought the game for the 3DS and it’s really short. All sold on now – GAME stores have more second hand figures than they know what to do with apparently!
