Skin Treatments

I may have mentioned it once or twice, but this year I turn 40!

Instead of seeing a fresh faced young woman in the mirror I am definitely starting to look my age, the lines are multiplying almost daily and the silver hairs that are sneaking through keep glinting in the light as if to remind me that I am not getting any younger.

I love getting beauty treatments, although this doesn’t happen often enough.  Facials and pedicures are my particular luxury items and it has got to the stage where I am definitely consider getting a skin peel which is an effective way to treat lines, wrinkles, acne, acne scars, pigmentation and sun damaged skin.

I would choose a Glycolic Peel as I suffer with Acne Rosacea which means my cheeks, nose and chin are always flushed. These peels are made using glycolic acid derived from sugar cane and are used to treat a range of skin problems including acne scarring, ageing of the skin and sun damage so would hopefully even out my complexion as well as giving me soft, smooth skin again.

Having read about having it applied, it doesn’t sound like a relaxing treatment though as there is a mild pricking sensation, however speaking to people who have had it done it does sound worth it.

If I had the money I would love to see a skin specialist to get proper advice and treatment for my Rosacea.  I hope that once I stop breastfeeding I can get laser treatment which would clear the redness from my face and reduce the symptoms significantly and then reduce the need to wear cover up make-up which I hate as it makes my skin feel clogged up and heavy.

The SK:N website has some great advise and information about skincare and all their treatments on their articles page here.
