We are regular visitors to Weymouth Sea Life Centre, but despite loving a game of crazy golf, have never played their Pirate Adventure Mini Golf, which sits next to the park.
With restrictions on indoor activities still in place, Weymouth Sea Life Centre have re-opened their doors to their outdoor areas only and you can buy tickets to the mini golf, which also includes entry to the centre – pre-booking is essential.
We were invited to go along and try our hands at the mini golf and the kids could not wait to get started.
We had our temperatures checked at the entrance and then it was full steam ahead.
The entry times are staggered to aid social distancing, but the added benefit is, that you are not waiting around too long to play the next hole.
There are 18 holes to play, all with different challenges to beat, or routes to take.
We all had at least one hole which was challenging and Sebby was the only one to score a hole-in-one.
The pirate theming was authentic, with a large pirate ship called the Queen Anne’s Revenge in the middle of the course.
Sebby loved reading all the signs as went went around the course.
Some of the course has narrow pathways and steps, so is not suitable for a buggy, but there is space to leave them at the entrance / exit.
The course took us about an hour to complete and then it was into the Sea Life Centre to explore the outdoor areas.
There are only a few animals outdoors, including the rock pools, penguins and seals.
The penguins seemed completely unfazed by the appearance of people, but the seals enjoyed our presence, with one waving back every time we waved to it.
The kids were looking forward to playing in the Caribbean Cove adventure play area, but sadly the weather had other ideas and we were rained off.
Tickets to the Pirate Adventure Mini Golf and Sea Life Centre cost £14, or you can just do the mini golf for £6.95 for adults and £5.95 for children.

Gosh, I haven’t been to Weymouth in years. I was talking to my kids about crazy golf though as I know they would really enjoy it, this one looks fun!
The pirate mini golf looks like a really fun day out. I am loving the seal giving a little wave, that is adorable.
Love mini golf and now that places are starting to open up we can check out the local one as this looks so much fun.
