Pureessentiel Anti-Lice Lotion

The kids have been back at school all of two weeks and already we have had the letter home that every parent dreads………..

There have been head lice in a class at school.

Head lice are tiny insects that live in hair and nits are the empty egg cases attached to hair that head lice hatch from.

Head lice are a common problem, particularly in school children aged 4-11 and I have lost count of the times I have treated my children for the problem in the time they have been at school.

Headlice are largely harmless, but can live in the hair for a long time if not treated and can be irritating and frustrating to deal with. One of the clearest sign that your child has them is scratching their heads alot, although just writing about them makes me scratch mine.

There are things you can do to help prevent them. We add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to our shampoo, keep long hair tied back and a spot of hair gel in the boys hair seems to help too.

If the worst does happen and your child does come home with those dreaded little travellers, there is a new product on the block to help get rid of those little blighters – Pureessentiel Anti-Lice Lotion.

Created in 2005 in France, Laboratoire Puressentiel is a family-owned company specialising in the design of aromatherapy and plant-based organic products, using essential oils and natural active ingredients.

Puressentiel Anti-Lice Lotion kills lice, larvae and nits in complete safety and comes with it’s own handy nit comb. Its 100% natural formula, free from chemical agent, combines:

  • Plant oils of coconut, calophyllum, jojoba, sunflower, sweet almond, castor, which act mechanically by obstructing the respiratory openings of the lice, larvae and nits. The lice are unable to develop resistance due to the asphyxiation mechanism.
  • Essential oils of lavender, clove, tea tree, geranium, which are soothing and antiseptic, ideal for relieving scalp itching.

Its formula is gentle on hair and the environment, and leaves hair silky and shiny. Its applicator bottle is easy and practical to use. It has a fresh and pleasant fragrance, unlike some of the synthetic lotions and is suitable or use by adults and children over 3 years. Thankfully we have not had to use it yet.

Pureessentiel Repellant Spray possesses a preventive action against lice. In the event of an outbreak, it prevents scalp infestation and offers effective protection for up to 24 hours.
Its formula, with no neurotoxic repellent, contains Citriodiol® from 100% natural origin (derived from lemon Eucalyptus essential oil) whose repellent action has proved itself to be as effective as most synthetic chemicals, plus it also acts as a fabulous detangler on Eliza’s hair.

Pureessential headlice repellant

It leaves the hair smelling fresh and pleasant and can be used daily without damaging the hair or making it greasy and comes as a practical and easy-to-use spray solution and used on children and adults over the age of 3.

Puressentiel harnesses nature’s pure and powerful ingredients to also create ranges include Purifying, Respiratory, Rest & Relax, Muscles & Joints products as well as Diffusers to take care of its customer’s health and well-being in a natural and effective way. It is committed to respecting nature by adopting an eco-responsible attitude, from the harvesting of the raw materials to the manufacturing of each of its products.

  1. Hi! I know Pure essential, I used one of their products to repulse mosquito while on holidays.
I didn’t know they had something for lice. To be fair, my kids had lice only once so far. We tried over the counter products that didn’t work then I “googled” natural ways to treat lice and we used coconut oil all over their hair, let it over night, then rinse it out with vinegar and then use the nitty gritty comb. It was all gone. Then we had to keep going with the nitty gritty comb for a week, catching any new one just hatched. Never had one since! And yes at the time, I use to spray my children’s hair with tea tree oil. So the Pure Essential product seems to do the same in a more convenient way!

  2. My son was only back at school a week and got th dreaded nit letter thankfully he hasn’t had them but I do go through his hair with a nit comb every night.I always like to look for products I can use if he does get them though as I know from relatives with children that a lot of the over the counter products don’t work.

  3. I’m dreading the day the letter comes home. My son is four, but when my older children were at school I had to deal with my fair share of “the lice letter”. I’m so glad that there are decent products on the market now that can effectively deal with the nasty critters!

  4. It looks easy to use and a nice smell – I remember when we had treatment when we were young and it smelt awful! Nice to know it’s come a long way since then 🙂

  5. This sounds fab. We had a real issue with lice last year, Eva got them and we couldn’t get rid! The only thing that worked was the nitty gritty comb which I loved, she’s never had them since thank god!

  6. They dont send the letter home anymore with our children as they feel it victimizes the children!! FFS! My kids have had it 4 times since going back in september all because someone else cant be bothered to treat their kids!

  7. Oh no, they spread like lice (… sorry bad joke) I think every child gets it at one point in their lives and if you can get rid of it so easily that’s perfect. Wish my parents had it to give it to me when I was young because unfortunately if your friend had it then you got it the next day!
