Project Mc² Ultimate Lab Kit Review

Netflix’s Project Mc²  is still one of Eliza’s favourite television series.

Set in the fictional city of Maywood Glen, California, the show revolves around the fields of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths).

The series follows the adventures of McKeyla McAlister and her best friends, who work for a government organisation called NOV8 (pronounced “innovate”), a highly secretive group of teenage female government operatives who are trying to protect the world. These super-smart girls become secret agents who use their science and tech skills to save the day.

We have reviewed a couple of items from the accompanying toy range, including the Project Mc² Pixel Purse and the H2O Remote Control Car and they are toys that Eliza still loves to play with.

We recently received the Project Mc² Ultimate Lab Kit to review and, in Eliza’s opinion, it is the best toy yet from the range.

The over-sized bag not only looks like the ones they use on the show, but it unzips to reveal the ultimate lab kit that allows you to conduct your own experiments at home or on the go, just like the girls from Project Mc².

There is a place to store all your equipment plus a booklet included in the set that contains over 15 different easy experiments to try at home including glitter slime, make a cloud in a jar and chromatography black magic.

Cloud Experiment

Also included in the set is a real working microscope with 4x power, 3 glass slides, 2 test tubes with stand, funnel, beaker jar, 3 lab flasks, 15 pH strips, pipette dropper, petri dish, safety goggles, Project Mc2 ring, and 2 sticker sheets to decorate the bag.

Some of the experiments can be done with everyday items you find in the house, like kitchen roll, felt tips fens and water, however some do require a special visit to the shops. My only slight frustration is that the experiments are written with the American market in mind and many of the items have different names in the UK.

The microscope also requires 3 x 1.5V AG13 (LR44) batteries which are not included.

I have been instructed to hit the shops for all the ingredients for the other experiments and will keep you posted on how we get on………

  1. We have this set and it is really brilliant. It completely inspired my daughter to do so many different experiments and she has lots more planned for the summer holidays
