Project MC² UV Nail Maker Review

Project MC2 Nail Maker

Eliza adores Project MC² and has quite a collection of toys from the show.

Set in the fictional city of Maywood Glen, California, the show revolves around the fields of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths).

The series follows the adventures of McKeyla McAlister and her best friends, who work for a government organisation called NOV8 (pronounced “innovate”), a highly secretive group of teenage female government operatives who are trying to protect the world. These super-smart girls become secret agents who use their science and tech skills to save the day.

The latest “toy” in the range is the Project Mc2 UV Nail Maker and we have been sent one to review.

This set allows you to design your own press on nails and to get started you need to insert 3 x AAA batteries into the purse.

To make the nails, simply use the scientifically formulated UV gel polishes to fill the nail mould wheel and add the glitter.

The bag has a clever UV light inside that will cure and harden the nails which are ready in less than 2 minutes!

The set includes adhesives to apply nails, nail maker with UV light, 2 UV gel polishes, 2 nail glitters, 2 nail design mould wheels, 2 design tips, 100 nail adhesives, 1 pair of tweezers, and 1 cleaning tool. Additional Refill packs available to make even more press on nails!

My main feedback on the set is that the nails are too large. The set is aimed at age 6+, but Eliza is 8 and the nails are too big, so she cannot wear them.

We are normally such big fans of Project MC² toys, but sadly this one does not live up to expectations.

What a shame about the size of the nails not being able to fit, other than that it seems like a great little set up! x

  2. Oh that’s such a shame as it sounds like it could be a great toy otherwise. They clearly need to rethink their sizing.

  3. bryanna says:

finding child size nails is so tricky – they always seem way too big or have such a weird mix of teeny ones and massive ones.

  4. Melanie williams says:

My friends daughter would love this. I can see her and her friends all playing with this for sure xx

  5. Sounds good in theory, sorry to hear that they are too large. I’ve not heard of the brand before but will check out some of their other toys.

  8. I was excited when I saw this as my 8 year old would have loved it, but when I read about the nail sizing I decided not t get it for her birthday. What a shame, but otherwise it would have been really good.

  9. Hannah says:

Oh no! It’s such a pity that the nails are too big – otherwise this would be a great toy!

  10. Rachel says:

I was going to say the nails look huge for someone who is 6, but I do love the concept x

  11. Liona says:

A nice idea for older kids I guess!

  12. This sounds like a good set but maybe catered for older girls (with larger fingernails) When I’m a bit older I’d like to experiment with this!

This sounds like a good set but maybe catered for older girls (with larger fingernails) I can’t wait till I’m old enough to experiment with this!

  14. Oh that’s a shame because the premise behind the product would be a hit with my daughter too! Hopefully they are able to make the nails smaller at some point 🙂

  15. What a shame this did not live up to expectations – it’s always a shame when this happens and they are so fond of the other toys in the range.

  16. Sarah Bailey says:

Oh no 🙁 what an absolute shame. I’ve always found that press on nails etc have been to large for me, so you would think making a childs one they would think about different sized nails and offer a whole range.

Oh no! In theory this sounds like a fab set but it’s a shame that this isn’t too great. I have found some of the Project MC² toys amazing and others not so good.
