I would love to say that this week was better than my disappointing week last week but things went from bad to worse with the news that our warranty would not cover our car breakdown because our issues were due to “wear and tear”.
We went in to see main dealer where we purchased our car from and the Service Manager even went on to admit that they knew these engines had a problem and even though our issue was not on their Citroen checklist, it is something they routinely check for and if we had the car serviced with them and they would have picked it up. He then proceeded to give us the hard sell for finance to fix the car or to purchase a new one. Safe to say we won’t be doing either so we are down to having one car between us which isn’t ideal as we can’t fit everyone in it.
I have gone from tears, to anger, to frustration and back to tears again and am now trying to focus on the fact that no-one was injured and it’s only a lump of, albeit very expensive, metal.
So with no car for much of the week it has been a fairly quiet one, although we did get out for some fresh air on Friday to Avon Heath Country Park and on Saturday we headed into Christchurch to visit the Red House Museum and had a stroll along the quay before picking Hubby up from work along with the realisation that his car just isn’t big enough!
Now to work out how I am going to get the kids to their various clubs when they start back next week as none are on a bus route!

So sorry to hear about the car! It must be so frustrating. We lived for 7 months with one car and it was hard! We didn’t use buses, so it was walking or cycling for us – although there are less of us and the kids are older, so it was easier than it would be for you.

Oh I am so sorry about your car. I think that it is disgusting that they have said that a car aged 10 years can have enough wear and tear to warrant the problems that you had! If the car was 20 years old ok! The kids seen to have enjoyed the week, the pictures are lovely. Hope you have a good week x #project365
I’m pretty sure that it’s law. Any train or road track built in-house MUST be over the entire floor, preferably where it can be tripped over lol.
So frustrating about the car! We had problems without ours for a week or two and with only one child that was always going to be easier than for you. We managed to cadge a few lifts with school friends who went to the same things.
I would be both frustrated and angry about the car too, thankful that no one was injured, you should never have been in this position x
Grrr cars and salesmen and garages collectively do my head in – so frustrated for you and hope you can get something sorted. Glad you had a good week otherwise – love how much your kiddos love the water! 🙂

oh no i am so sorry to hear about your car lovely – what a nightmare!!! they can be a godsend but when they go wrong complete nightmare.

So sorry to hear about the car, what a nightmare! When we first moved the US we only had one car and it was tricky, lots of walking!! Love that last smiley photo 🙂
