Project 365 2020 Week 50 – COVID Lockdown Week 39

The news is all full of COVID and Brexit at the moment as it looks like we are leaving the EU without a deal.

Cases in Dorset are rising, although Bournemouth itself has dropped slightly. The first people have received the new vaccine and are all Care Home residents and workers. A couple of people have had allergic reactions, but they suffer with severe allergies already.

We have finished binge watching Virgin River on Netflix, so let me know if you have any good series you recommend.

Here is our week:

Sunday 6th December

I feel like my updates are a bit boring as I always seem to be working, however, my husband and the kids headed to Bristol to pick Kian up from university.

In the evening I decided to treat us and bought a bottle of Champagne from work to celebrate my husband’s new job.

Monday 7th December

Eliza has been complaining that the elves have been well behaved this year, so we decided to up the ante a bit. It took a while for the kids to find them, but they loved it when they did.

Elves

At pre-school, we decided to have a bit of fun with the school elf too and the kids loved their antics too. When the kids got home from school, we set up the Nerf Bunkr set that we had been sent to review and the kids played outside until it got dark with it.

Tuesday 8th December

The temperature has really dropped and I have been wearing my thermals to work, so I was a little surprised to see this hardy fellow on my gate when I got home from work.

Grasshopper

In the afternoon I headed into Bournemouth with Kian and Abbey to find the cuddly Baby Yoda that Sebby asked Santa for last weekend. Luckily I got the last one in Build-a-Bear and think I have pretty much finished our Christmas shopping now. We treat ourselves to a Starbucks as a reward.

Kian picked the kids up from school, as requested by Sebby and Eliza came bouncing through the door with a Head Teachers award to show me for her excellent work.

Wednesday 9th December

Another Head Teachers award today, but this time for Sebby who got his for being good and working hard.

The elves were really up to no good tonight and decorated the Christmas Tree and lounge with toilet paper.

Thursday 10th December

Lilah’s first birthday, how is she a year old already!! We popped in to see her straight from work / school with her presents.

She loved her Nesting Babies from Rosa & Bo and spent ages playing with them with the kids. In fact, the lucky little lady was spoiled rotten.

Friday 11th December

Inset day for Eliza and Sebastian but luckily it was my husband’s day off, so they all caught up with the Mandalorian on TV.

I interrupted work for a hospital appointment, first an X-Ray on my lungs and joints and then a discussion with a nurse about the new medication they are trying me on for my arthritis. All I need to do now is book some more blood tests and I should change over around Christmas.

Saturday 12th December

You guessed it, working again! The kids headed out to Arne to complete the Christmas Trail with their godmother.

Luckily it stayed dry and they found all the clues and found the answer to the quiz and were rewarded with a candy cane. In the evening, the elves hatched a devious plan to steal the chocolates from the Christmas tree!

  2. It’s nice that your son is now back from university so you can enjoy Christmas together as a family. My week has been quite uneventful, working from home, I went to drop some things around my parents last weekend and a few virtual work social events this week which has been nice x
