Philips BlueControl Advance – 3 month update

Regular readers of my blog will know that I have been testing the Philips BlueControl Advance, for the treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis.

For those not aware, the Philips BlueControl Advance device is the worlds first wearable Blue LED Light treatment for treating mild – moderate plaque psoriasis on the arms and legs.

It is used to treat each plaque once per day, with a single treatment taking just 15 minutes.

I am going to admit now that I was really sceptical at first. I have tried numerous creams over the years that have little to no effect on my psoriasis and it has progressively got worse as I have got older.

Getting into a routine of using it is a bit of a challenge at first and you have to work out when is best for you to use it. For me, it is now an evening habit and I pop it on once the kids are in bed and I am watching my latest Netflix binge (Designated Survivor at the moment).

In my first post I brought it to people’s attention that you don’t see instant results with BlueControl Advance and different people respond at different rates. After four weeks using it, I noticed that a particularly raised and sore area of psoriasis on my thigh is a lot less inflamed and the soreness had subsided. At 8 weeks there was no soreness, a lot less flaking and I could see patches of skin starting to heal.

So what do the next four weeks progress look like?

Week 12 Blue Control

There is almost no flaking at all and very definite improvement in the skin. Some small patches have disappeared completely, so do not need treating at all.

The only side effect I have had, is that the good skin around the psoriasis has tanned slightly, but, the product guidelines state that this is completely normal, plus I am hoping that with the nicer weather here, the colouring of my skin will even itself out.

Now Philips, please could you invent a device to treat the scalp too please.

The Philips BlueControl Advance has an RRP of £349, but it is available to test it at home, risk-free, with Philips 90-day money-back guarantee and there is a 25% discount available by joining the Philips newsletter.

  4. The difference in 12 weeks is amazing to be honest. I wouldn’t have thought something so small could make that difference. Hopefully the skin colouring will even out a little for you.

  7. Hi. It seems they have stopped selling them as I have been looking at their online store and nothing has been available for over 6 months. Had me a bit worried that there might have been some side effects so they stopped selling it?
