Nixplay Seed Photo Frame Review

I take far too many photo’s – FACT!

Our lounge used to be full of huge canvas pictures of the kids until we redecorated last year and created a photo wall on the stairs instead.

My husband has put me on a canvas print ban now, as we physically don’t have any spare wall space, so when Nixplay contacted me to ask if I wanted to review their new Nixplay Seed Photo Frame, I jumped at the chance.

We have had digital photo frames before, but they have relied on you adding photo’s to a memory card and then remembering to change it a couple of months down the line.

The Nixplay Seed is much better – it is a cloud based, which means that by using the free downloadable app (available on Google Play and App Store) you can send photos to the frame from your mobile phone or tablet.

In the box is the 10 inch digital photo frame, power cable, remote control, quick start guide and plug adapter sockets for US, UK and Europe.

Once you have turned the digital frame on it gives you instructions on how to set it up. Firstly, attach the frame to your wifi before downloading the app, then pair it with the device you wish to transfer the pictures from.

You can set up different playlist using your phone or tablet. We used Google Photo’s to set ours up, but you can also use your own photo stream or cloud.

With family and friends living further apart than ever before, the Nixplay Seed also makes a lovely gift as you can also share your photos privately with others that own a Nixplay photo frame, by sending single photo’s or complete playlists.

The Nixplay Seed has a 16:10 aspect ratio display with 1280 x 800 resolution and will auto adjust to show portrait or landscape photos and you can create playlists of up to 2000 photos each!

For those that worry about space, the power cable is cleverly designed to be used as a stand, plus if energy saving is on your mind, it has a motion sensor which turns the frame on or off when you enter or leave the room.

It can also be used with Amazon Alexa connecting it to the Alexa app and asking for the playlist you want.

The Nixplay Seed is a great way of mixing up your photo’s on display and not leave them hidden away on your computer and has an RRP of £159.99.

Disclaimer: We were sent the Nixplay Photo Frame for the purpose of a review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

  1. This would make a great holiday gift for my Mom. It sounds like it’s simple to get the photos on there and that’s a must for her.

  2. I take so many photos and have bought about getting a digital photo frame but don’t like the idea of updating SD cards all the time as I know if forget to do it so this Nixplay sounds like the ideal solution for me. Would be great for our family too as a gift as we live far from them and they only see photos of the kids sporadically.
