The New La Famiglia sharing dish at Prezzo #PrezzoLaFamiglia

Eating out with the family can not only be a challenge but can be an expensive hobby too.

Prezzo is a restaurant that my Dad raves about but we had never been and I was even more surprised to find one locally to us in Wimborne which is set over two floors in a gorgeous Georgian Villa.

Prezzo Wimborne has not one, but five dining rooms to choose from, with each having its own unique style. I was pleased to find that the building has kept the original features like fireplaces, chandeliers and cornicing in combination with everything you would hope to find in a modern restaurant.

Prezzo Wimborne

It is obviously a very popular restaurant as it filled up very quickly after we arrived but that did not take away from the service. Our waiter couldn’t have been more helpful, taking our drinks order first and supplying the kids with those all important activity sheets which contained crosswords, word searches, colouring and a space to draw.

We were invited to Prezzo to try their new La Famiglia sharing dish –a choice of a bowl of Penne Arrabiata, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara or Penne Alla Rusticana, with two sides, big enough to feed up to four people. After a bit of discussion we decided upon the Penne Alla Rusticana a dish containing seasoned chicken, pancetta, peppers and rosemary in a creamy pomodoro sauce with a portion of chips and some salad.. As there was five of us we also ordered a pizza for Isaac as he is not a fan of pasta.

The food arrived within ten minutes and we were left with four bowls and some tools to serve it out amongst us. I have to say that the food was delicious and more than enough for four of us – in fact Hubby ended up clearing everyone’s plates at the end as we couldn’t finish it all.

Of course, it had all been a ploy by the kids to get Daddy to finish their dinner – they had left some room in order to get some dessert.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Prezzo and with the La Famiglia sharing bowl costing just £18.90 it is an inexpensive way to treat the kids to a meal out. We certainly be visiting again as it is a fabulous excuse to take a walk around Wimborne to work off all that food afterwards.

The Prezzo restaurant chain has more than 280 restaurants across the UK in shapes and sizes ranging from old libraries to harbourside eateries taking in the view.

  1. I love the idea of sharing plates for the family. My little one is only small but I reckon the 3 of us could polish one off. I haven’t been to Prezzo in years but we always drive past one in Romsey that looks really nice so will have to make a pit stop and try it out.

  3. I’ve been tempted to try Prezzo, but not managed yet. That meal is really good, and great value. It would be the kind of thing that would work well for our bunch.

  6. yours sounds a lot fancier than my local one, I’ve been a few times though and it’s always busy. They just need to work on their people skills here, plus we had the La Famiglia but no salad! Gutted as I felt I’d failed in mum stakes not getting any veg into their meal. It was nice though, wold be great to see them add a fish pasta sharing dish too.
