Keeping warm with Reima this winter

Winter is fast approaching and my thoughts have turned to the kids winter wardrobe.

If your kids are anything like mine, they like to ditch their coats wherever possible, however, it is important to remember that they are less able to regulate their body temperature compared with adults.

Children are naturally so active that their bodies are generating enough heat to keep them feeling warm, even if they aren’t, so making sure they are protected from the elements is key to them staying healthy.

Reima is the globally leading brand in functional kids’ wear, with a mission to encourage children to discover the joy of movement and lead an active childhood.

We were sent the Juniors’ Northern Fleece Jacket for each of the kids to review, which is ideal to use as a mid-layer during active days during Autumn and Winter.

Rainbow Road

This fleece jacket comes in six different colours and designs and are warm, cosy and soft against the skin.

Reima Cardigan

The material is warm, breathable and dries quickly, as we found when we got rather too close to a waterfall.

The fleece fastens with a full-length zip, has a chin guard for extra protection and has two handy side pockets.

Reima Jumper (1)

The kids wore these everyday when we were in Iceland, with a temperature that hovered around freezing, and all agreed that they were super comfy and snuggly and warm.

Waterfall

We teamed them with a long-sleeved top underneath on milder days and added a base layer for the really cold days and when we were out at sea whale watching.

The kids were also sent Reimatec Laplander boots, which we were also really impressed by.

Reima Coat

These boots are not only warm and waterproof, but they have Vibram Arctic Grip rubber soles, which offer an outstanding grip on icy surfaces.

Reima Boots

This anti-slip material has such a good grip on icy surfaces that I was very jealous of the boots as the kids seemed unfazed by walking on ice as I slipped around, trying to keep my balance.

Iceland

The waterproof boots are made of synthetic material and textiles, have seam-sealed inserts and a warm fleece lining, plus 200g insulation – so toes stay dry and lovely and toasty warm!

Boots Iceland

Unlike wellies, these Laplander boots are really easy to pull on and pull off and come with clever elastic lacing that is really easy for the kids to adjust themselves.

They come in four colours; stone, black, navy and raspberry and have an RRP of €89.95.

Both the fleece jackets and Laplander boots performed brilliantly during our holiday to Iceland and I am confident that they will be well worn during our winter, whatever it tries to throw at us.
