Introducing Disney Life

I am a life long Disney fan and vividly remember seeing my first Disney film, Jungle Book, in the cinema as a child. When Abbey was born I started collecting Disney films on VHS and as time has moved forward that changed to DVD, but I haven’t got around to replacing my old films that I had on VHS yet. Now I don’t have to!

Last month saw the very exciting launch of a unique digital membership service, DisneyLife, which offers Disney’s biggest collection of entertainment, including movies, books, music and TV episodes, all in one place. Available at DisneyLife.com, the App Store and Google PlayTM, families and fans can sign-up now for a free one month trial. A multi-user account of up to six profiles for families comes as standard to use across 10 different devices, for a monthly price of £9.99.

Disney Life

DisneyLife draws on family-favourite stories and characters from almost a century of magical Disney storytelling: from classic animations like The Jungle Book to DisneyPixar classics including all of the Toy Story movies, and live action blockbusters such as all of the current Pirates of the Caribbean films. It is super simple to use too with large colourful images of the film/book you want to select so even non-readers like Sebastian can use it.

You can now enjoy Disney wherever you go and whenever you want: take a trip with the Lost Boys to Neverland on a family movie night; really ‘Let It Go’ dancing round the house to the Frozen soundtrack; watch The Lion King’s Simba grow from cub to King in the departure lounge; sing along with Baloo to The Bare Necessities in the car; or dive into a reading adventure at bedtime with Nemo.

Disney Life

The easy-to-use app is designed for all ages, and allows fans to explore Disney stories and characters through a rich and colourful interface unlike any other. You can stream instantly or temporarily download an ever expanding digital library of hundreds of movies and books, as well as thousands of songs and TV episodes, through a UK internet connection, so the kids can watch their favourite film on the move. Dive deeper into special extras like Disney and DisneyPixar Shorts, deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes; and redeem one free download every month from a selection of fun Disney apps with your monthly membership. Movies, books and kids TV series are available in up to five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

DisneyLife highlights

The perfect companion for family movie night, DisneyLife is home to more than 300 movies such as The Muppets, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and Enchanted; as well as DisneyPixar favourites including Toy Story and its two sequels, Wall-E, Monsters, Inc. and Cars. DisneyLife offers an unparalleled selection of Disney Classics – including The Lion King, The Jungle Book, Aladdin and Peter Pan. New titles will regularly come to DisneyLife, including the Academy Award®-winning hit movie Frozen, launching on the service in Spring 2016. These can all be watched on your tablet, phone or the TV by using a streaming device like Apple TV or Chromecast.

Music

Turn the school run into the ultimate Disney sing-a-long and choose from over 5,000 tracks on DisneyLife. Bestselling soundtracks featured include Frozen, Lady and the Tramp, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and High School Musical; as well as hit albums from Disney stars like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, R5 and Hillary Duff.

Kids’ TV Box sets

Catch-up on your favourite Disney Channels TV box sets, with over 2,000 episodes available in one place: from Sofia the First, the story of an adventurous princess in training; to Austin and Ally, the story of two friends who become a musical tour de force; and global hit Jessie.

Books

Enjoy Disney’s magical storytelling with over 100 enchanting stories at launch. Available as audio and ebooks, there is a built-in read-along function for younger children, staged reading for kids of different ages, and reading adventures for more experienced readers. Perfect for bedtime stories with mum and dad, the whole family can follow their favourite characters from Frozen, Winnie the Pooh, Monsters, Inc. and Cars on new adventures.

Disney Life

Apps

Every month, members get one free app to download from a curated selection of fun Disney apps via the App Store or Google Play. At launch, these include Cars 2 World Grand Prix Read and Race, an interactive story and thrilling race game through the streets of Tokyo, Japan and London with Lightning McQueen. This is currently Isaac’s favourite as he can design his own cars as he reads through the story.

Disney Life

Parental Controls

DisneyLife has built-in controls that allow parents to personalise their children’s use of the service, offering time limits on children’s profiles for weekdays and weekends.

Disney Life

My one and only grumble with it is that you can only download one app per month across all profiles, which, when you have three children all wanting a different one is a challenge, but other than that it is great to have all the Disney movies available in one place without having to search through the DVD cupboard to find the one you want and I love the fact you can download them onto the iPad so they can be watched on the move or when you don’t have internet connection.

Visit www.DisneyLife.com to start your one month free trial and continue your membership for £9.99 a month after your free trial ends and there’s no annual contract so members may cancel at any time.

  1. Wow that sounds incredible. You get SUCH a lot for your money. For Disney fans this is going to be phenomenal, especially for adults that did not own any Disney pre-kids. I did (yep I am a big kid). But what a great idea.

  2. We have recently got out subscription. Im not sure how I feel about it yet. The concept is brilliant but I’m finding it very glitchy – Might be because Hayden’s iPad is the first Air and hasn’t been updated to the newest IOS. But so far so good.
    Great review lovely

  3. I heard about this and think it sounds brilliant. We are all in to our Disney films so I love the idea of it all being accessible and not having to out and buy new films. It’s a great idea.
