How to get your brand noticed on Social Media

Are you looking to improve your social media engagement?

Getting your brand noticed on Social Media can be tricky and there is no way you want to be sat at your PC trying to drive engagement 24/7, however, if you don’t have a strong presence on social media, you could be losing out on organically generated traffic

If your newsfeed is anything like mine, it is flooded with ads and promotions and unless something really stands out, I just scroll on past.

In this day and age we see content everywhere, TV, billboards, traditional media and online, but how much really catches your eye and left an impression that you remember seeing?

To get noticed on Social Media you need to be consistent with your style and branding as it will make your audience begin to recognise your brand every where they go. If you want to automate your social media marketing efforts, you may rely on UseViral.

Visuals are one of the best way to do this as they can enhance your brand in ways that written text can’t, for example, if I post a simple picture on pinterest it doesn’t gain much traction, however, if I theme it in my brand colours and give it a title, telling people exactly what it is pointing to, it will triple engagement.

Did you know it takes five to seven impressions for people to begin to recognise your brand? This means that repetition of key brand ingredients – your colours, logo and typeface is essential.

The first thing to decide when designing your branding is the colours. I chose colours in the blue spectrum for my blog as they convey calm and trustworthiness whilst choosing those in the yellow and red family stimulate and energise, so would be perfect for those in the health and fitness genre. There are lots of colour psychology charts online to help you choose.

You don’t need to be a tech genius to find your designs either, there are many social media mockup designs out there to choose from, which won’t break the bank and will help you to upgrade your social media in a modern and professional way.

The editable templates are adapted to use on most social media platforms including; Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Etsy, websites, blogs and more and will help keep your branding streamlined, consistent and memorable.

It is also wise to remember that most of us view our social media on our smartphones or tablets these days, so ensure that any text is large enough that it is easy to read and that the typography conveys the mood and tone of your post, so choose your font and its size carefully.

You should also be aware that anything too brightly coloured or bold can make it feel like you are shouting and will make potential customers and readers scroll past.

Once you have the look of your brand sorted, it is time to start posting. Don’t just go for the hard sell, give people a reason to follow you. Share special offers, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and entertaining facts to give clients, and other businesses, good reasons to follow you and don’t forget hashtags – they can help people to find you and your product more easily.

Once you have started posting, keep an eye on your insights as you will soon know what time of day gives you the best engagement.

What do you find catches your eye on whilst scrolling social media?
