Ecoegg Laundry Egg Review

Being a larger family with young children the one appliance that is guaranteed to be on the go daily is the washing machine.  It is a real work horse in our house and if it ever went wrong I would be completely lost.

The one grumble I do have is the cost of washing detergent.  Unless there is an amazing offer on, it really ramps up the cost of our weekly shopping so any savings are a real bonus.

Let me introduce you to the Ecoegg Laundry Egg.  It is packed with unique, natural and powerful cleaning pellets which activate in the water and are scientifically proven to gently lift away dirt and grime. And if that wasn’t enough, it completely replaces washing powders, liquids, gels and tablets. No mess, no fuss.

We were sent the Ecoegg Laundry Egg to review.  It is not as simple as opening the box and chucking it in the washing machine – it takes a couple of minutes initially to set it up.  Simply open up the egg and fill it up with the cleaning pellets.  These pellets need to be changed every 72 washes so I have estimated that this will be in three months time and popped a note on the calendar.

Laundry Egg

Sounds good doesn’t, but the skeptic in me wondered if it really does work?

It only blooming does!

It has been faced with pretty much all the things that kids get on their clothes – mud, grass, food and it even coped when a particularly nasty bug hit the house.  I have not had to use a stain remover either, although this is still recommended for those particularly stubborn stains.

The clothes emerge from the machine clean and fresh.  What’s more is that it does not irritate my sensitive skin which washing detergent frequently does.  I am definitely a convert and at £19.99 the initial outlay is higher but it saves a lot of money in the long run.  My egg has enough refills to last for 720 washes but you can get a smaller, cheaper version if you don’t do quite as many washes as we do.

  1. Awesome! I’ve been looking for an alternative to washing gel as that clogs up the washing machine and causes longs between washes. I loathe the mess powder makes so this looks fab!
