Dorset Graded Meet Swimming Gala

As Isaac progresses at swimming, he is entering and taking part in more and more swimming gala’s and the day after his birthday party, he took part in the Dorset Graded Meet in Dorchester.

After such a fun-filled, but exhausting day, the day before, Isaac wasn’t feeling on top form initially, but once he was in the pool with his friends he perked up.

For his last gala in Yeovil back in March, he concentrated on his 50m swims, but this time Isaac entered both 50m and some 100m races too.

As it was only a month since his last gala, I wasn’t sure he would improve on his personal best times, but he swam brilliantly and improved on all his times again, especially the 100m swims where he knocked off around 20 seconds each race!!

Backstroke - Isaac

March 2019 Times:

  • 50m Backstroke: 55.83.6
  • 50m Freestyle: 46.57
  • 50m Breaststroke: 1:08.18
  • 50m Fly: 1:02.55
  • 100m IM: 2:02.93

April 2019 Times:

  • 50m Backstroke: 55.83
  • 50m Freestyle: 45.93
  • 50m Breaststroke: 1:07.54
  • 50m Fly: 1:01.03
  • 100m Back: 2:00.60
  • 100m Breast: 2:20.45

The best bit about this gala was that they had an official photographer, so we have some amazing images of Isaac swimming in some of his races.

We have a bit of a break now, with his next gala being in July, but we are hopeful for some more personal bests and some longer races to compete in.

  1. Wow he did so well to beat his personal bests even though he had his birthday party the day before. You must be so proud x

  2. Can I ask how old he was when you got him in to swimming? I’m contemplating if it’s worth sending the twins now (aged 3)
