Colour Me Wellies Review

I first met the El Rhey team at our local networking group Lemur Linkup.  They are a small local company with big visions for the future and their first product are ColourMe Wellies.

ColourMe Wellies are functional,  customisable wellington boots for kids that promise to redefine rainy days forever! I was intrigued when I first saw them and couldn’t wait to get Isaac a pair, but his feet were too small as they are only available in sizes 11 to 1.

The wellies are made with high quality natural rubber and come with 3 vibrant art markers so your child can create their original pair of wellington boots.  Currently the only designs available are the Zebra and Moth, but I have seen the artwork for the upcoming range and there are some very exciting designs coming soon.

The lovely team at El Rhey sent Isaac his very own pair of boots to customise and he couldn’t wait to get stuck in.

Colour Me Wellies

The wellies come with three colourful double ended art markers (one broad nib for bulk colouring and a fine nib for delicate edging).  These markers are permanent, non-toxic, acid and odour free with transparent ink which dries fast. The colour stays on the boot permanently but washes off skin with a little soap and warm water.

These boots take time to colour and Isaac picks them up for around an hour before moving on to something else.  I have to admit that I am itching to have a go myself and even up the colours but he is very proud of his work and does keep coming back to them to add a bit more colour.

Colour Me Wellies

Isaac really enjoyed colouring them in but I would have liked to see more colours come with the boots or have the option to choose your own colours on the website – Isaac wanted a blue instead of a red.  The Colour Me Wellies packs start from £20 depending on which pack you choose and would make a great addition to any art mad youngsters stocking!

  10. What a lovely idea. My sister used to refuse to wear wellies with the great line (still repeated MANY years later) that “only wallies wear wellies” these might have changed her mind! 🙂
