Celebrating 100 Years of Magic & Mayhem #RoaldDahl100

Today celebrates 100 years since Roald Dahl was born and to mark this momentous occasion Carlton Books has launched the amazing book “The Gloriumptious World of Roald Dahl“.

We were sent this book to review and Isaac immediately claimed it as his own, having devoured the BFG book over the school holidays.

In The Gloriumptious World of Roald Dahl you can discover where the Oompa-Loompas came from, learn how to be a Twit and what the characteristics of the most fearsome giants in all modern literature are, and get to know the Giant Peach crew……all in one book.

The book reveals the stories behind the spectacular stories of Roald Dahl, one of the most influential children’s authors of the last century and arguably, of all time.

Authorised by The Roald Dahl Estate, the 59 page book brings to life Roald Dahl’s most loved characters and stories giving fans an enchanting new insight into the fascinating mind of the world-famous author.

  1. I love so many of his books, it’s hard to choose one, but I think I’d have to say Going Solo. In terms of which I’m looking forward to sharing with my daughter though it has to be George’s Marvellous Medicine and Charlie and the Chocolare Factory!

  2. ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ is my favourite story as I loved the suspense and all the unusual surprises along the way. The characters are all so different, colourful and well written.

  4. I adore them all, its so hard to choose. BUT every time I see a man with a beard I think of Mr Twit, and I cannot eat those fat noodles (cannot think of their name) in Wagamama’s as I think of the worms in the spaghetti!

  5. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, I always wanted to be Willy Wonka – although actually more like an Umpa Lumpa lol.
