I can’t quite believe that my daughter at the age of 14 months and my son at 3 years have been to Wembley Arena! I think I was in my early twenties when I first went there to see Boyzone.
However, it wasn’t some mad concert full of screaming teenagers – this was CBeebies Live!
We travelled from Bournemouth to Wembley in good time, and parked at Wembley as we didn’t fancy a long walk with the littlies. We were a little shocked to find the parking cost £22.50. That really ate into our budget for the day, but luckily we had brought our own food. It wasn’t until we got into the arena that we realised that we could have brought the buggy in, so if you plan to go, I’d check too – it may save money on parking!
There was lots of merchandise on sale, some of which was pocket money price. The most expensive item I saw was a child’s hoody for £20 but we opted for the flashing light toys (these come in handy for some special magic in the show). I was a little disappointed that there was not a program though!
Once seated we were eagerly awaiting the start of the show when we noticed someone had come on stage. Ted Glenn and Mrs Goggins from Postman Pat! They were there on the pretext that they were getting the stage ready for the performance and Ted had always wanted to “play” at Wembley, so they had a little dance.
It was the perfect start and when they went off the lights dipped and we were transported to the wonderful world of CBeebies!

The show was high energy from the start, full of your favourite children’s songs and nursery rhymes – audience participation is a must!
Once the children had warmed up, the story begins. We welcome the Lazy Town characters of Sportacus and Stephanie on Stage, who are soon joined by Robbie Rotten. Of course, Robbie Rotten is up to no good and wants to be the biggest CBeebies star, so he plots to kidnap all the CBeebies characters. Lots of pantomime style “BOO’s” from the crowd!!
