Britax Bob Revolution Pro for Running!

I am not a runner so when we were sent the Britax BOB Revolution PRO to test out I put it through its paces on off road challenges like the forest and the beach, but I wanted to know how it faired as a running pushchair so I lent it to my friend Sonia who is a serious athlete and Mum to Evie.

Since having Evie in June 2014, Sonia has completed the Brighton half marathon in 2 hrs 10 mins. She has also completed 3 standard distance triathalons (1500 m swim 28 mile bike and 6 mile run) and her biggest challenge was a half ironman which was a 1900m lake swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13mile run, plus she completed her first marathon in December – I am exhausted just think about it!

Having the Britax BOB has meant that she has been able to run anytime with Evie as she no longer has to organise childcare whilst she trains, making training easier and running is now her strongest sport. She is now busy training for the Ironman in Bolton in the summer.

Here is what Sonia has to say about the Britax BOB Revolution Pro:

The BOB is a good looking sturdy buggy with a nice comfy padded seat and harness. It is light and easy to push and the adjustable height makes it easy to change between running and walking and for Dad, who is much taller than me, to push when we are out and about.

The seat reclines far back for sleeping and I love the City mode and Run mode as it makes it more versatile than some other running buggy’s I have tried.  There is no reverberation through the padded handles when running which makes it gentle on my shoulders and arms. The bike brake on the handle is perfect for hill workouts and if you need to stop quickly and the nice big hood gives maximum protection from sun/wind. It is also easy to fold and fits nicely in the boot of my car. I really like the wrist strap feature too so the buggy cannot run away from me if I lose my grip.

There are a couple of things that could be improved on the buggy though. There are no hood pockets (if baby sleeping I can’t reach back pocket), when the hood is folded it gets in Evie’s way and although it is light to push, it is heavy to lift in and out of the car.

Britax Bob

The Bob has a lockable front swivel wheel which is designed with tracking adjustment, allowing you the keep the stroller steady and straight on more uneven ground offering ultimate versatility. It is approved for running and skating and can also be used for everyday trips around town or to ensure a smooth ride over the toughest of terrains.

All in all the perfect buggy for running and off-road fun!

  1. This looks perfect as an all rounder! I don’t run but live in a very hilly village and go out power walking with my dog everyday and this sounds like it would make those outings much easier! Great review, love seeing the action photos too.

  2. Gosh how things move on, buggies designed for running with. When mine were born buggies barely even folded….lol. Many modern parents do run to keep fit and it must make it easier when you can take the baby/toddler with you. It also makes for teaching the child in the buggy that exercise is a good thing and could lead them to a healthier lifestyle.
How nice that you have tested it across different terrains for walking as well as lending it out to a friend for running.
