The running joke in our family is that I am the Queen of Bad Planning.
In my defence I am actually good at planning, having organised many events in my previous jobs, however, I am not quite so organised at home. The nickname actually came from the kids birthday’s as I have three of them all in the month of June, along with my own and Hubby’s following shortly after at the beginning of July.
That is not it though, I have two step-sisters, a step-brother, SIL and my MIL all with birthday’s in June too – three of them on the 24th so as you can imagine, it is an expensive month.
I do try to pick up bargains for birthday’s in the January sales, but with Abbey and Callan it is getting more tricky as they get older as they have firm ideas of what they want / need and what is fashionable.
Sebastian is a little easier, although my almost 3-year-old sways between wanting Paw Patrol, Disney Cars and Thomas the Tank Engine toys and I have been stalking Amazon for some good deals. What I didn’t realise is that you can also find some Amazon discount codes if you look hard enough too.
This week I have sorted Abbey’s present and have my fingers crossed that she likes it and know what we are getting for the MIL – just need to check we are not clashing with the other children.
As for Callan, I have no idea what he wants as his request for an iPad or a new bike is well out of our price range. Maybe we will be boring and just give him some money towards it.
