MENTAL HEALTH

You never know how you’re going to cope with the arrival of a new baby and the most important thing is to talk about it with loved ones and not feel alone. THE FIRST THREE MONTHS

The first three months of a baby’s life can be the trickiest for parents to get their heads around their new roles and grapple with this extra little person in their lives. CEO of The Wonder Weeks Xaviera Plas-Plooij, The Parent and Baby Coach, Heidi Skudder, Naturopath, Lucinda Miller and baby care consultant and author of The Baby Detective, Sarah Norris, will be giving advice on how to get through – and enjoy – those first 12 weeks.  Chaired by Leonora Bamford, founder of parenting website, MyBaba – Friday 18th October @ 1.15pm

BIRTH

The biggest thing on an expectant mum’s mind will be the day of the labour; what will it be like?  What happens in a C-section and a natural birth? Other key talks across the weekend include babyproofing your relationship featuring experts from Channel Mum and psychologist, Emma Kenny, (Sunday 20th October @ 11.30am) and a live podcast panel of Don’t Tell Your Mum Live – with Al Ferguson from The Dadsnet, Ben Anderson (The Diary of a Dad) and reality TV star and new father, Mario Falcone (Sunday 20th October @ 1.15pm).

Zoe Bonser, Show Director at The Baby Show, says: “We’ve listened to visitor feedback and what they really want is to find out more about how they can overcome the hurdles they face as new parents – that’s weaning, understanding their baby’s sleep problems, baby proofing their relationship, mental health, and finding out which products are best for them and their lifestyle.

“That’s why we’ve come up with a number of new sections dedicated to helping them through this, including the new Dadsnet Mancave where men can chat to veteran dads and open up about the things that matter to them. Unlike in the past, dads play a key role in the birth of their baby and are much more involved in purchasing all the new baby must-haves so we want to celebrate and support that.”

With their best line-up of speakers ever, and the likes of Stacey Solomon and Giovanna Fletcher bound to draw a crowd, The Baby Show team can’t wait to welcome everyone.

The Baby Show, with MadeForMums, will take place at Olympia London Friday 18th until Sunday 20th October 2019.  For more information visit www.thebabyshow.co.uk/olympia.

  1. Sounds like lots of very interesting topics for parents. As someone who has never had kids I can’t comment, but I know my friends who have had kids always talk about how little sleep they get x
