An Easter day out in Bournemouth

It has been a fantastically busy Easter holiday for us and we have been making the most of the unusually warm and dry weather.

Living here, we are spoilt by having 11 miles of sandy beaches on our doorstep, but when the weather is good the hotels in Bournemouth get booked up fast and the beaches are packed, so we try and find alternative things to do.

This weekend, we were challenged to head into town and find something to do that we hadn’t done before.

Our first stop was Mr Mulligans adventure golf centre in BH2 which opened earlier this year.

We are regulars at playing crazy golf, but we have never played anything quite like this.

There are three courses to choose from; a spectacular journey through a comic book, unearthly light experience and apocalyptic crash scene.

You can choose to play just one, or all three 9 hole courses.

From Mr Mulligans we decided to go for a wander through Bournemouth town centre to see what other new places we could find.

Being Easter Sunday, all the shop were closed and most of the cafes / pubs with outdoor seating were packed, but we stumbled across a restaurant we had not heard of before on Richmond Hill – Wildwood, and best of all – kids eat free!!

The menu was perfect for us, with a mixture of pasta, pizza and burger dishes to choose from and the kids adored the activity packs they were given.

We loved that the attention to detail on the kids menu and activity packs transferred to their cups and plates too.

Isaac and Sebby both opted for Mini Burgers, Eliza enjoyed a bowl of Spaghetti Bolognese, I had a Hoisin Duck Pizza which was delicious and Hubby had their Burger Special.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning to eat again as not only was the food delicious and the service excellent, but it was reasonably priced too.

We left the restaurant and enjoyed a stroll through the still busy Bournemouth Gardens, before heading home for a dip in the Lazy Spa, which was the perfect end to an enjoyable day.

Disclaimer: The spending money for our Easter day out was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.
