Airhogs Sonic Rocket Review

“BEST TOY EVER”

It is not often you hear those words coming out of a child’s mouth but all three of my younger children made that exclamation when playing with the Airhogs Sonic Rocket.

It says it is ready to go right out of the box, but we ensured it was fully charged before heading outside but boosting it with its USB charging cable.

The only assembly it requires is the launch pad, which takes seconds as it simply slots together.

The Sonic rocket is now ready to be unleashed outside.

For a full adrenaline-pumping experience, this rocket features a rotating countdown – simply press the button, step away and watch it go!

You can choose between three power modes which can send the rocket up to 200ft into the air.

Press the button once, the rocket flies to 50ft, press it twice and it is 100ft and finally if you press it three times then the rocket goes up an amazing 200ft.

Sonic Rocket Flying

It has an impressive 50 launches per charge, you can send your rocket into the atmosphere again and again, which is perfect for when the kids have to take turns to launch it!

The rocket is designed to last and made from a crash-resistant EPP foam to help keep it in once piece when it comes back down to earth. It is so lightweight it lands rather gracefully and the kids raced after it to try to catch it.

Catching Airhogs Rocket

I would recommend finding a large open space to launch the rocket as it does fly for a staggering distance and we almost lost it after setting it to 200ft.

I would also recommend you choose a solid surface or very short grass to launch the rocket from.

If you are looking for something to get the kids outside and running around, then this is it.

When it does run out of charge, it only takes 20 minutes to fully re-charge, so you are soon back outside and having fun again.

  1. What a great toy to get them outside! Good job the weather’s picking up lately. I suppose with a 20 minute charge it doesn’t take much to power it, right? You could probably just bring a mini portable charger with you on outings & holidays.
