BubbleBum Inflatable Car Booster Seat

When I was invited to review the BubbleBum, I have to admit I was skeptical.

Why?

The BubbleBum is the world’s first inflatable and deflatable, portable and packable car booster seat for kids aged 4-11 and weighing 15-36 kgs.Yes, that’s right – an inflatable carseat!!!

My daughter often takes the kids out but she has a tiny car, so fitting car seats in it is a real challenge so BubbleBum‘s narrow design is perfect for her car!

The BubbleBum is just as safe as any rigid car seat and has been approved under the United Nations ECE Regulation R44/04 for safety for both Groups 2 and 3 and is designed for use with a standard 3 point adult seat belt. It weighs approximately 0.5 kilograms and comes with a convenient carrying bag and shoulder belt positioning clip.

How does it work?

The clever car booster seat inflates in seconds with a few puffs of air into the valve at the back.  I struggle to blow up balloons but this was easy to do, plus you can deflate and pack down just as quickly but undoing the valve and rolling the BubbleBum up. When deflated, it is lightweight and small enough to fit in hand luggage, a child’s rucksack or in my handbag.

BubbleBum‘s cool and funky design appeals to kids and it comes in black and silver or purple and lime.  The positioning clips keep the lap belt in place and away from the abdomen and there is another positioning strap to keep the strap away from the neck.
The Bubblebum is great for travel as it can be tucked away in a travel bag, or suitcase and I know Abbey will get lots of use out of it with me safe in the knowledge that Isaac or Eliza is securely strapped in, in her car!

BubbleBum retails at £29.99 and is available at: Halfords, John Lewis, Tesco, Boots, Heatons, Kiddicare and Amazon.

  1. What a fantastic product! I can imagine that so many parents would want one for ferrying littles around for after school trips, so much easier than carrying a booster into school every week! Love the photo of your little driver!
