Getting Sporty

For a whole month I am taking part in the Mark Warner Active Family challenge and this weeks challenge is “Get Sporty”.

Kian has finished football for this season and the team are having a break from training, but Isaac still gets to go to his and has a wail of a time kicking footballs about and practicing his shooting skills.  I prefer football training this time of year as it is much warmer (and drier)!

However, Isaac desperately wants to learn to ride a pony like his big sister and we had a trial session at Pony Palace last Sunday. We may have a future Olympian on our hands – you never know!

But, getting sporty isn’t all about paying for lessons.  You can be sporty at home too – check out our own version of horse racing – Happy Hopperz racing!

It started well, with the first race won by Kian and the second by Isaac……….
It was after that the cheating started…….
And not to be outdone, Kian helped Eliza win a race too………
I have to admit, it was the best horse / deer / cow race I have ever witnessed and the giggling was infectious.
The little kids also enjoy me setting up an obstacle course in the garden:
  1. Go through the hoop
  2. Kick a football into the goal
  3. Do ten bounces on the trampoline
  4. Whizz down the slide
or how about a game of garden mini golf?
Getting sporty isn’t about winning, it’s about taking part and having fun as these pictures hopefully prove!
