Project 365 2024 – Week 3

Brrrrr it has been a chilly one this week, although most disappointed that we didn’t get the snow we were promised.

Eliza is on countdown to her birthday next week, although her party is on Saturday evening, where I am bravely taking 10 teenagers ice skating.

Here is our week:

Sunday 14th January

The reality has kicked in that the kids have two shows coming up soon and we have started with Sunday morning rehearsals. They are both really excited so up and ready, but I am mourning the loss of my one lie-in of the week.

Whilst they were at rehearsals I caught up on some blog stuff as I have really neglected it over the last few weeks.

Monday 15th January

My early day and work and am very grateful for remembering to put the windscreen protector on my car as all the others were frozen solid.

It was a change over day on all my community projects, so I got to empty the voting unit – luckily I don’t have to count it all by hand, otherwise it would have taken me all day.

Tuesday 16th January

A rare day off with my husband, so we headed somewhere new to try breakfast. One of our favourite places is Flamingo in Winton and they have opened a new branch in Boscombe, which has been on our list for a while.

We had the restaurant to ourselves and the food was delicious and the followed by a stroll along a rather chilly beach!

Wednesday 17th January

Earlier in the week, we were forecast to get a dumping of snow, but sadly it never materialised, so off to work at my preschool, where it appeared we had a tummy bug going around as several children were all sent home. Fingers crossed Lilah and I avoid it.

Lilah and Sebby can have a bit of a love hate relationship as Sebby likes to wind her up. The tables were turned this week as she insisted on giving him hugs and kisses.

Thursday 18th January

Another day off and I had to wait in for a parcel. Thankfully it arrived early in its delivery window, so I took advantage of the opportunity to go for a walk.

I took my camera in the hope of spotting a kingfisher, but sadly it wasn’t mean to be.

Friday 19th January

We had someone go sick at work, so I ended up going in at 5am – OUCH!

It did mean that I finished early though and I was happy to see that Willow has finally woken up from her brumation.

Saturday 20th January

Eliza’s birthday is next week and I bravely said I would take Eliza and her friend’s ice skating for her birthday treat.

There was a little concern amongst the teachers that someone would get injured, when its less than three weeks until their show, but luckily they all came away unscathed.

  1. We’ve had no snow either, well unless you count the few flakes at the start of the week.
Good luck to the kids with their shows and happy birthday to Eliza, the ice skating sounds like fun. x

  2. Happy birthday to Eliza, it looks like she enjoyed herself. We did have snow but it only lasted one day. I thought is was funny to read that you went to Flamingo in Winton as I used to live in Winton, but the one in Salford, not the one near you.

  3. Happy birthday to Eliza, looks like they had a great time and I am glad they came away unscathed. I’ve often wondered if the little tokens are hand counted when I see the full projects, thankfully you don’t need to I dread to think how long it would take you!

  4. The ice skating sounds fun, good job no one was injured. Sounds like a fun birthday treat. How do you decided how the money is split for the charities if the token aren’t counted? Are they weighed? The beach looks lovely and warm in the sun, but I can imagine it was rather chilly at this time of year.
