Almost everybody knows that diet and exercise, along with regular checkups, are important to good health. When you face symptoms such as headaches or sore throats or fatigue. It’s often choked up to just being a virus or common cold. The reality can be somewhat different, however.
Sometimes these symptoms turn into something more and if you don’t make your health a priority and you ignore what your body is trying to tell you, you’re not going to go and get your health checked. A women’s health clinic can help you to determine the reason behind your symptoms, but if you don’t go to those appointments in the first place, you’re going to struggle. So with that in mind, let’s take a look at the top health signs that women will often ignore.
- Breast changes. It’s one that should never be ignored, and yet a lot of women still do. We are often warned that we should be looking for what our normal breast tissue feels like.It should always feel identical to the other breast. There shouldn’t be any hard lumps, there shouldn’t be any skin puckering, and there shouldn’t be any random inversion of the nipple. If you notice breast changes, this is the first thing you should be checking up with your doctor, and you should always push to ensure that you are having the appropriate tests so that you are not brushed aside as being anxious.
- Bloating. It’s common to feel bloated if you eat or drink too much or around your period. But if you are noticing that you feel bloated more often than not, or if the bloating is causing you to feel very full very quickly after eating, then you need to go and see your doctor. Sometimes excessive bloating like this can be a symptom of ovarian cancer.
- Fatigue. We are tired. We are very tired and we usually blame lack of sleep for this. But if your tiredness is not matching up with your exertion and you are not feeling better after some proper sleep, then you should see a doctor. Frequent fatigue often interferes with your personal or your professional life and that could signify something else is going on.
- Skin changes. If you have new spots on your skin, or spots that look different from others that keep changing and evolving, then you really need to go and see a doctor as soon as you can. It’s easy to dismiss skin changes as being sun damage, but sun damage is not a good thing and it can be a sign of skin cancer.
- You are losing weight, but you are not intending to. There is nothing wrong with losing some weight, especially if you need to. But if you’ve been losing a lot of weight very quickly without intending to do so, then you do need to speak to your doctor to make sure that there’s something else happening inside. You might feel just fine on the outside, but that doesn’t mean you are.
