Visiting Beaulieu and the National Motor Museum has always been one of our favourite days out locally.
Not only is there the motor museum to explore, with fascinating cars from yesteryear through to some of the bizarre creations from the world of Top Gear, there is the old Abbey, Beaulieu house and beautiful gardens to explore.
Now they have added even more to do with the introduction of the fantastic new play area – Little Beaulieu and we were invited to the launch this weekend.
Little Beaulieu is the perfect area to let the kids run wild as they explore the magical wooden palace.
It is a kids heaven, with secret passageways, hidden tunnels and lookout towers.
You can spy on your friends from behind portraits and even crawl through a trick bookcase.
You get up into the palace by storming up the bridge, climbing the wall, or heading through a tunnel and coming back down is even more fun with a huge spiral slide, or a fireman’s pole.
There is also a tricky rope maze room to negotiate, stepping stones and a scramble net for added challenge.
For fans of the old play area, many of the old features, like the old wooden cars and bus have been repurposed and moved to make the play area even bigger, with a separate area especially for toddlers and younger children, complete with sandpit, chute and a smaller climbing frame.
Behind the wooden palace, the play area has been extended backwards and features a zip line, swing bar rings, log hurdles and balance beams and the all important swings..
When you are all played out, there is a family friendly covered seating area where you can relax with a warm drink and snack from the cafe, or a cheeky ice cream in the summer.
The highlight of our visits to Beaulieu previously has always been riding the monorail, but this is the perfect addition to this fabulous family day out – just be prepared to spend a couple of hours in the park!!
Entrance to Little Beaulieu is included in a ticket to Beaulieu from 15th March, with a family ticket costing £49 in advance.

That play area looks fantastic! I have never visited Beaulieu but I would love to visit one day – especially to play in the play area!
