Keeping the kids feeling and looking cool with Reima this summer

Keeping kids cool on hot days can be a challenge.

On hot days and during exercise, excess body heat causes sweating which is our own cooling system, and to keep it working, it is important to drink enough water. But sometimes this is not enough.

Wearing less clothes helps, as sweat can evaporate better, but taking off all clothes is seldom possible when out in public, and with such a focus on sun safety, would also expose more skin to the sun, too.

Did you know that in extreme heat and during vigorous physical activity, additional cooling can be obtained via special sportswear and I have been sent some of Reima’s new clothing range for kids, using their smooth, elastic Xylitol Cool fabric.

This range, which includes sportswear, features Xylitol Cool fabric; a technology which keeps kiddies feeling cool and fresh during summer activities. It’s more than just a sensation, too – temperatures on the skin drop between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius!

Non-toxic and safe, Xylitol Cool gets its cooling effect from Xylitol; an edible sweetener found in sweets, chewing gum and toothpaste.

Ideal for children who are super sporty, the Xylitol Cool range is practical yet trendy. It’s especially effective for children participating in after school or holiday sports clubs where they’re more likely to overheat.

This is a safe way to make kids feel more comfortable, and will help them enjoy their favourite activities all summer long!

Isaac and Eliza both love their new outfits and Isaac is wearing his for his end of year school play – it is the perfect choice for a street dancer!!

The Xylitol Cool range is available at www.reima.com features t-shirts, sweat tops, shorts, dresses and skorts with prices starting from €23

  1. I hadn’t heard of clothes that cooled before. It’s a great idea, kids can be so active and it stinks to see them overheated.
