Regular readers of my blog will know that I am struggling finding clothes for my soon to be 15 year old as he is at that awkward stage between boys clothes and mens.
I didn’t think School Uniform would be an issue as most ranges, even supermarkets, do go up into teenage sizes but trying to find trousers that fit was becoming a real issue. Thankfully Trutex came to my rescue.
Trutex is the leading brand in school uniform and school sportswear across the UK and has been supplying quality clothing for 150 years. At Trutex they believe in the high quality of their uniforms and strive for durability as well as style.
Kian’s uniform is very basic with white shirts, black trousers, school tie and a school jumper. The issue we have had with trousers is that he is very slim and they hang off him, plus the leg length is normally far too long. Trutex have recognised this problem and have Slim Leg Trousers in their range.
The slim leg trousers have a flat front with slimmer leg, 2 buttoned back pockets and come supplied with belt. They have a fully lined waistband with internal waist adjuster, perfect for my slim teen plus they come in a range of waist and leg lengths so you can get the perfect fit.
I also ordered him a twin pack of short-sleeved, easy care, polycotton white shirts. I don’t know about you but ironing is my pet hate, especially this time of year when it is so hot outside. Well I am pleased to report that these do NOT need ironing at all. Simply wash, hang on the line to dry and they are ready to wear! With a two piece collar, chest pocket, short sleeves and a large range of collar sizes, they are perfect for the summer months.
Kian had his Sports Day a couple of weeks ago and enjoys cross country running, but had complained that he didn’t have any tracksuit bottoms. They are no allowed branded wear at school and I had been struggling to find some plain ones but Trutex do a range of jogging pants in lots of different colours.
The jogging pants have an elasticated waist and internal drawcord for the best fit and come with cuffed bottoms with 2 side pockets.
All the items of Kian’s new uniform are made from quality fabric and you can tell they are built to last. I am happy that Kian will finish his final year of school in style and comfort. Trutex school uniforms can be found in stores throughout the UK, use their store locator to find your nearest store or order them online.

This sounds really good to know about. I am already having problems getting shoes for Robert (only aged 10!) while my daughter is very tall and nearly out of the uniform on offer when it comes to length. Thanks!
Megan and Charlie were sent some Trutex uniform to review last year and we still wear it now. It’s really hard wearing and good quality.
Gosh, I didn’t even think about that – when they are in the ‘inbetweeners’ gap between kids clothes and adult sizes!
My daughter already gets a woman’s size 8 but for women I think it is easier than boys/men. My lad is only 8 so I have a few years yet but I’m glad that Trutex came to your rescue!!
We are about to start buying our first set of school uniform and I have been feeling lost as to what to buy, I think we will go for good quality that may last over supermarket cheap
I find it difficult to find school trousers for my 12 year-old as he wears them pulled down over his hips. This means that the trousers have to have a large waist and then need shortening. I’m hoping that soon he’ll start wiring them as intended! I’ll check out this brand to see if they have anything that would work for him.
This is so useful, I am having trouble kitting my son out. he is younger but a bit of a giant and I need plain joggers for secondary too. Mich x
oooh this is useful to know .
My teen is also a string bean
Oooh those trousers look good – my eldest boy is 13 later this month. I struggle to find him trousers. Kaz x
