Travelling with children can be stressful at times and as parents we do everything we can to ensure our child is settled, comfortable and occupied for any kind of travel.
Depending on the type and length of our journeys we always have several fun things for the kids to do as we travel to our destination – there is only so many rounds of I-Spy we can stand. For long journeys having the iPad loaded with a few children’s films is a must and the older kids take their DS in the car to play games. For trains and planes where tables are available, travel games and colouring books are also a great distraction tool and they don’t take up too much room in the bag.
Now KLM Royal Dutch Airlines wants to ensure its younger passengers have a pleasant and comfortable journey and have produced their first short animation film for children about Bluey, the tough little KLM plane, which was launched last November and has become extremely popular with younger travellers.
“Bluey The Movie” will be shown on the special KLM YouTube channel, and onboard all intercontinental KLM flights from June onwards and is the first in a series of animation films about the little aircraft.
In the first film, Bluey, his father and his friend Windy have a fun and exciting adventure at the annual Zundert flower parade.
Several Bluey products are also available, ranging from keycords, trolleys and card games, to a fun Bluey meal box for children on international flights.
Children who are travelling unaccompanied by an adult can also use the newly renovated KLM Junior Jet Lounge at Schiphol. The play area in Lounge 2 at Schiphol is also being revamped to ensure Bluey becomes part of the scene there.
Bluey is an adorable little plane who had the kids transfixed for his short adventure. We cannot wait to find out what he gets up to next!
