Project 365 2015 – Week 15

The first full week of the Easter holidays and we have been out and about making the most of the gorgeous weather.  The only thing that spoiled the Easter weekend was that hubby had to work, but he finished at lunchtime on Sunday so at least we had the afternoon with him.

We had planned on going to Brownsea Island for their Easter Egg Hunt, but we decided to save that for another day as it is a full day activity, instead heading to Golden Cap for their egg hunt.  Sadly the website was not updated correctly and we missed it by a day but the Smugglers Hunt was just as much fun and we made the 627ft climb to the highest point in Dorset.

Having missed out on an Easter Egg on Sunday, Monday saw us heading to another National Trust location, Studland, for their egg hunt.  This time we were informed they had run out of eggs the day previously but we could still find the clues.  The kids loved finding the answers and they were rewarded with a magnified glass for their efforts.  Instead of an easter egg I treated them to an ice cream instead.

After a busy couple of days of exploring the kids decided that a trip to one of their favourite parks was in order, so we headed to the Helicopter park at Whitecliff on Tuesday.

Our Merlin passes were used lots of times last year and were due to expire on Thursday so we decided on one last trip to the Sealife Centre at Weymouth on Wednesday where the kids got to meet some of their favourite rock pool animals, Penguins and even some speedy sealions.

I still hadn’t lived down the fact that the kids didn’t get their chocolate Easter Eggs from earlier in the week so on Thursday we headed back to Kingston Lacy as their easter hunt was still running.

Friday saw us big people head to Project Climb in Poole for some bouldering.  I have to admit that I didn’t manage much, but the boys had a fabulous time and we all enjoyed the slack lining.

Finally today saw us head to the Bournemouth Natural Science Society open day where the kids got to meet a whole array of creepy crawlies, go pond dipping and making bird feeders and bug boxes.

Here is our week in pictures:

  1. Awww bad planning from the NT with their eggs! We did Lacock locally on the Sunday which was lovely – not that they needed any more eggs 😉 Love the family pic and I feel your pain with hubby working weekends – mine works every Sunday which is a right pain!

  2. Gosh, sounds as though you’ve really been making the most of the sunshine and time off – what a range of activities! How strange for the Easter eggs to have run out at a national trust place!
