6 of the Most Stunning Areas of Natural Beauty to Visit in the World

Blue Lagoon

The world is a beautiful place and it’s important to try and see as much of its top attractions as we can since we only have limited time in life. So here are 6 of the most stunning areas in the world that I’d like to visit someday.

Norwegian Fjords

The Fjords of Norway are some of the most stunning, beautiful and deep inland bodies of water in all of the world, and it would be nice to see them for real rather than rely on just cooking Norwegian dishes at home for the experience. The fact that they are so big and specifically so deep allows great boat trips and cruises along them. Even although Norway is a great place in itself you can spend a whole trip just at the Fjords if you want to.

Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most stunning natural water features in the world. Also, it is an area that is under threat from rising sea temperatures as the worry is that it is becoming bleached due to this damage and it may not be around forever.

African Safari

Africa is a beautiful continent and offers such a wide range of areas of natural beauty and wildlife. But for me, the traditional safari experience would allow you to see such a huge variety of wildlife in its natural environment.  Africa Odyssey Okavango Delta Camp in Botswana is the perfect place to do this as it provides a great and accessible place with some fantastic guides available.

Blue Lagoon Iceland

The Blue Lagoon in Iceland is a geothermal spa, which means it’s a naturally formed series of hot water pools where you can go and have a hot bathing experience that’s completely natural. It also helps that the setting is one of intense natural beauty and Iceland is a stunning place to go in general.

The Grand Canyon

Without sounding too obvious the best thing about the Grand Canyon is the scale of the place, it’s grand. This 277 mile long beast of a canyon cannot be accurately compared to anything you’ve seen before. The North Ridge has an average height of 8,000 feet which considering 29,000 feet is the height of Everest, the highest mountain of the world, only three and a half times taller, this is very staggering. It is a very popular destination though taking in over 5 million visitors every year. Besides the Grand Canyon, Arizona offers many awesome trails for cycling enthusiasts, great hiking opportunities for hikers and many great places to camp, so you can have your pick of scenery and adventure.

Faroe Islands

To finish off I’m going to pick one that’s not immediately on everyone’s list as it is a small out of the way series of islands located in the North Atlantic and is very windy and cold. But that being said the remoteness is one of the factors that draws me to it. It’s quiet and sparsely populated so much that sheep outnumber humans by almost two to one. So if you want a real getaway from it all few locations offer this as much as the Faroes.

Hmm… now you’ve got me thinking where my top most beautiful places in the world are.
I’m lucky enough to have been on safari in Africa (Tanzania) which was spectacular. The Grand Canyon is definitely on my list. A cruise in the Norwegian fjords is on my list, but more for the possibility of seeing humpbacked whales and the Northern Lights, as I’m convinced that the West Coast of Scotland is as beautiful. I think I would add Tuscany (I’ve been here and find it beautiful) and I think I’d really like to visit Patagonia.
