5 Time Saving Hacks for Travelling the UK

Do you find it really tedious travelling across the UK? Although it may not be the largest country in the world, travelling throughout the UK can be both extremely stressful and time consuming. However, if you travel frequently, there’s a few hacks you can use to save yourself both time and money.

For inspiration, here you’ll discover 5 time saving hacks for travelling the UK.

1. Get clever with your bookings

If you want to save potentially a lot of time and money on your travel, you’re going to need to get clever with your bookings. This means, booking well in advance, and making sure you aren’t too limited on the times that you travel. For example, if you’re travelling by train, you can take advantage of anytime tickets which allow you to catch the train on your chosen dates at any time.

In addition to saving you time, getting clever with your bookings can also save you a lot of money too. Did you know for example, that some travel websites store your details and recognise when you go to a specific hotel frequently? As they realise, you’re more than likely to book that hotel again, they sneakily put the prices up. So, browsing through travel sites privately is a great way to avoid potential price hikes on your favourite hotels and destinations.

2. Take advantage of technology

Whether you’re travelling on public transportation, or you’re driving throughout the UK, technology can help to save you a lot of time. With driving, you have advanced satellite navigation systems now which can show you the fastest routes to take. Public transportation companies on the other hand, provide real-time updates to let you know if buses and trains are running behind schedule.

There are a lot of travel apps you can download too in order to make travelling through the UK quick and easy.

3. If driving, make sure your tank is full

If you are planning on driving, the last thing you need is to have to stop to fill up your tank. So, always make sure you have a full tank of petrol before you head off on your trip. Depending upon where you live, you can also take advantage of fuel delivery services, where fuel is delivered to you at your own convenience.

When it comes to eating and drinking while you’re travelling, it’s surprising how much time it can take up. Standing in line to get your coffee or lunch can really eat into your travel time, so why not pre-order everything beforehand? 1. I know from experience that traveling during off-peak times also helps you maintain your sanity on long trips, especially if you’re traveling with kids. I can’t think of many things worse than being stuck in traffic with a car full of antsy kids!
