If you want to save potentially a lot of time and money on your travel, you’re going to need to get clever with your bookings. This means, booking well in advance, and making sure you aren’t too limited on the times that you travel. For example, if you’re travelling by train, you can take advantage of anytime tickets which allow you to catch the train on your chosen dates at any time.

In addition to saving you time, getting clever with your bookings can also save you a lot of money too. Did you know for example, that some travel websites store your details and recognise when you go to a specific hotel frequently? As they realise, you’re more than likely to book that hotel again, they sneakily put the prices up. So, browsing through travel sites privately is a great way to avoid potential price hikes on your favourite hotels and destinations.

I know from experience that traveling during off-peak times also helps you maintain your sanity on long trips, especially if you’re traveling with kids. I can’t think of many things worse than being stuck in traffic with a car full of antsy kids!
