42 Days of Summer Challenge

I don’t actually think I ever realised that the summer holidays were 42 days long – no wonder we sometimes find it a challenge to keep the small people in our lives entertained.

We are now 21 days in to the summer holidays and half way through, but what have we been up to as a family?

Living in Bournemouth we are hugely lucky to have both the beach and the New Forest on our doorstep which offer countless free days out and here is what we have been up to so far!

We have………

……explored the world around us and enjoyed making new friends……… I think the Mcvitie’s BN biscuits may have been involved with this!

New Forest

……….been to the beach with family and friends and paddled in the sea, wrote our names in the sand and built sand castles, taking it in turns to knock them back down again!

42 Days of Summer

…… learned the art of perseverance and practiced and practiced until we could climb to the top of the rock and learned to body board!

42 days of summer

……….enjoyed music like never before, learning how different shapes and instruments make sounds on the musical trail!

42 days of summer

Even Mummy had a go – can you identify the seaside themed song?

We also camped for the very first time and enjoyed the delights of Camp Bestival where we learned circus skills, danced and sung along to the likes of Chas & Dave, Mr Tumble, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Basement Jaxx, found fairies and got all dressed up for no other reason than it is fun!

That’s not all!

We have been to Christchurch Quomps on really hot days and cooled off in the splash park and by playing on the swings………

#42daysofsummer

……. to Swanage Carnival aboard an open top bus

#42daysofsummer

………seen people literally flying through the air at Moscow State Circus!

42daysofsummer

……learned to ride new things – a bike, a scooter, a pony and even a flying elephant with the actual Alice (from Wonderland!!

42daysofsummer

…….when the weather hasn’t been so good, we have made cakes and jelly – YUMMY!!

42daysofsummer

…….or headed to soft play, armed with the perfect snack for refuelling – McVitie’s BN Biscuits!

42daysofsummer

But some days we have just chilled out at home and relaxed!

42daysofsummer

We have done all this in the first 21 days of the summer holidays – wonder what the next 21 will bring?
