After months of rehearsals, it is finally show week and the kids were really excited to finally share their performance of Oliver.
They smashed it of course and are now looking forward to chilling out for half term, before work begins for their next show in March.
Here is our week?
Sunday 9th February
A work day for me and thankfully not too busy.
The trouble with work days is that I always forget to take pictures, or they are of boring work stuff. Today’s one photo is of my tyre as it is getting quite worn and I have had to order a new one.
Monday 10th February
The kids are in full rehearsals for Oliver and have a slightly more relaxed week at school, with performances for local primary schools during the daytime, to make sure everything is perfect for their evening shows.
I am a fairly new dance mum, so still perfecting the hair, but quite pleased with my first effort.
Tuesday 11th February
The kids came home from school with tales of the lighting system playing up and people forgetting their lines, but other than that, everything seemed to go ok.
My only photo of today is of Willow, who seconds before this was taken, had her head held high!
Wednesday 12th February
A busy day for me, which started with a charity fundraiser for a local school at Rick Stein’s restaurant in Poole., for whom we donated a hamper for their raffle.
From there I went to the hairdresser for a much needed hair cut – it hasn’t been done since September! I had fallen in love with the calico trend on TicTok but not brave enough to really go for it, so had finer colours put through.
The evening was the kids first performance of Oliver and they smashed it!!
Everyone was incredible. Eliza was initially disappointed with her role as Charlie Bates, but she still shone and Isaac really smashed being Fagin. He nailed all Fagin’s quirks and mannerisms – we did chuckle at his beard though.
Thursday 13th February
Night two of Oliver and the kids nerves had definitely gone and they made sure they enjoyed every moment of the show.
Some of the cast were different as they double casted some roles and Eliza’s bestie, Brooke, was Dodger and you could see just how proud Eliza was of her.
It was also the night we got to take some photo’s afterwards and with most of the family there, it took a while!!
Friday 14th February
The kids were knackered but got up and went to school under the promise of a lunchtime party and on the way home from the school run, I noticed our local postbox was proudly sporting a new topper.
We don’t normally celebrate Valentine’s Day, but my husband surprised me with some gorgeous roses.
We have some time off over the holiday’s, so we headed out for a much needed walk around Arne where they have been hosting Winter Watch. I was hoping to spot a kingfisher or the local white tailed eagle, but sadly the blustery weather meant it was just a hardy robin that followed us around.
Saturday 15th February
Isaac had work and I made the most of an invite to the opening of the new Rituals Cosmetics store at Castlepoint, for a cheeky girls day out with Eliza.
I had not heard of them before, but have fallen in love with some of their products. I will definitely be back after payday!
