Project 365 2024 – Week 35

It has been a busy, but fun week as I enjoyed a 7 day break from work.

Thankfully the weather has been mostly good, although there is definitely a slight chill in the air first thing.

This is the final full week of the school holidays, so we have really made the most of it.

Here is our week:

Sunday 25th August

I headed to London with Abbey, Eliza and Lilah where we started the day with a Terrible Thames cruise, done by the Horrible Histories team.

It was great fun, with lots of poo references and silly songs which the kids thought was funny, although Lilah was horrified by the thought of people getting their heads chopped off. After that, it was off to the Disney store and then our third visit of the summer to the Theatre Cafe, where the staff delighted Lilah by singing Love is an Open Door.

Our final visit of the evening was to see Frozen at Drury Lane, where Lilah was brilliantly behaved for the whole evening.

Monday 26th August

Bank Holiday Monday and we thought London would be busier, but it wasn’t too bad. Our final destination in London was Hamley’s toy shop, where Lilah mentally built her birthday list for December.

Luckily for me, Eliza is less into toys but we did come away with an air hockey set (which all the kids love) and a cuddly toy!

Tuesday 27th August

Another day of travel and this time across to Sussex where we met up with Callan and Barney at the Arundel Wetlands Centre, whilst Isaac started his week long swim teacher course.

It is a lovely place to explore, but I think I prefer it in the Spring when the wildlife is at its most vibrant.

Wednesday 28th August

Sebby had a school trip to Not the Fort in Weymouth earlier this year and I promised him a revisit as he enjoyed it so much.

It was a lot bigger than I thought and we spent a good three hours exploring the three floors, including a ghost passage and a nuclear bunker.

Sebby wasn’t keen on the Ghost passage idea at first, but we persuaded him to join us. We didn’t see, or hear, the ghostly whistling gunner who ‘roams round’ part of the site.

Thursday 29th August

Back to work after a week off me and it was with a bump, as there was lots to get through, including making up food donation bags for the local Foodbank.

Eliza, on the other hand, headed to the beach with Abbey for the first day of Bournemouth Air Festival.

Friday 30th August

Bournemouth Air Festival continues and the Typhoon flew over our house and work a couple of times. Tesco was really busy as we are the closest large store to the beach.

My only photo was off a cheeky squirrel how keeps following me around the garden.

Isaac also passed the written element of his course, just the practical to do now.

Saturday 31st August

An early start for me and I was shocked by how dark and chilly the mornings are already.

Isaac had his practical exam for his swim teacher course and I am beyond proud to say he passed – that’s his GCSE’s, Lifeguard and STÅ Swim Teacher award all achieved this summer.

We had planned to go to the beach after work for the final day of the airfest, but sadly the weather wasn’t on our side, so we took Sebby and his friends on a Pokemon walk around the estate where we live.

  1. What a lovely week off and the weather looked perfect. I do enjoy a trip into London, especially to the toy shops just for a mooch around. Hope back to school goes well for everyone.

  4. That’s a lot of fun! The air hockey must be really fun. I like playing it when we go to the arcades, but it must be fun to play it at home too. Hamley’s toy shop is so cool, I like it and I’m not a child.
